Who's picking up Age of Empires 2 HD?

The announcment that Age 2 is coming back in HD has to be the best news I've heard in the gaming world for at least 7 or 8 years. I pre ordered it on steam for 17.99. Well worth it as far as im concerned. I'll easily spend a few hundred hours playing it starting in April. 

Anyone else going to pick it up? I still play them on some 3rd party hosting websites but now this means games will be easier to get into and a ton more people will be playing. I'm so pumped!

Has it been re-textured or just given support for higher resolutions? From screenshots, it looks like the latter. Anyone is already able to play AOE2 online with custom resolutions (1080p, etc), but I may buy it again anyway to support such a great gameC_Rule

I just pre-ordered it. AOE2 is one of my fav games of all time, so it was a no brainer for me!

Never been a big RTS fan, but I absolutely loved AOE2. Definitely picking this up.

I spent a million hours playing AoE2 back in the day, both offline and on the MSN Gaming Zone. Glad to hear that Microsoft is finally joining the Steam train. Though $18 is a bit steep for such an old game, though.

I agree and I'm a "economical" gamer too. But I think the nostalgia is too strong in me for this one. :P

As long as the game doesn't follow the graphical design of Age of Empires Online then yes I will. If it goes the way of childesh cartoon characters then no.

How does AOE3 compare? I see I can get both games for $28. For some reason, I don't mind paying $17 for AOE2 as I have a lot of fond memories, but I'm still wondering if I should wait for a better sale for AOE3. Any recommendations?

I already have the game, so I might wait for this HD version to go on sale.

Probably not.  Although I'm tempted for nostalgia's sake, but I have a backlog of games from last year that I still need to finish.
