Hey everyone, so I've come back to the world of PC gaming, (last game I played and was devoted to was StarCraft: BW), and I've just finished building my PC meant for gaming. Anyway, I've played Crysis, CoD4, etc, and I'm wondering why there aren't any sports games on the PC? I've got a Wii, and those sports games are pretty average, and now that I've got this PC, I want to know why there aren't sports games available.

There isn't much of a perceived market for sports (or fighting) games on the PC. They are traditionally social games, and the idea of playing them on a PC doesn't appeal to most people.

I'm sure you don't mean that there are absolutely no sports games on the PC as in zero, nil, none, nada, etc.

I personally play Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 and Virtua Tennis 3 on my PC. I uninstalled Nba Live 08 since NBA 2k9 will be coming out on the PC this month. I think FIFA 09 & NHL 09 are also coming to the PC...or maybe not. I don't think Madden Football is available to PC users.

However, as fatshodan said, sports games are best played with a friend or friends and consoles do that quite well in the sense that there are no obstacles in getting one or more friends to get together and play on a single console and on a single copy of a game unlike PC.

NHL '09 is coming, and supposedly EA is retooling all their sports games for PC in '10. As for playing with someone on a PC, its not hard. There is also online. PC used to be big for sports games...

PC used to be the primary platform for games, but since xBox 360 and PS3 came out, very few games have been released for PC (and those that were are mostly bad console ports). PC is loosing bad.

i blame efa (e ****ing a). they took control and pushed out other developers; then they decided pc gamers didn't want sports games (or any games); and then they raped us. thank goodness other developers are making a comeback in the genre. nba 2k9, ftw!!!

PC is dominating whatever your favorite console is. More games, more money, better online, better graphics. Not one single thing you said is even remotely true. LEARN FACTS BEFORE POSTING.

As for sports games. They're coming next year. Madden 09 and NBA Live 09 weren't released because they are redoing those games for the PC.
