The game wasnt made for noobs using a controller :)anshul89QFT, you will get pwned. Learn to use the mouse
You need to try better controller software. The PC drivers that come with the 360 game pad are just that. Drivers. They rely on windows generic HID software to handle things like this and it wasnt meant to. I use XBCD found here: http://www.redcl0ud.com/xbcd.html for this. There are better options, but I'm cheap and XBCD gets the job done for free.  The 360 controller is the best gamepad I've ever used on the PC and this sofware works very well with it.Â
On a side note here, I have to agree with the sentement of the previous posts. BF2 is a FPS and on the PC you will find that a mouse and keyboard are FAR, FAR, FAR superior than a game pad for FPS's. If your spend some getting used to them you'll never want to go back to the game pad again for those types of games. Joysticks and gamepads are very useful on PC's, but for certain games only. You'll find on the PC that with most online FPS games you will have your butt handed to you everytime with anything short of a keyboard and mouse. Just my two cents on the topic. I hope the XBCD software helps out though. Good luck.Â

I tried using XBCD, how do you adjust the rumble feature? does the rumble work for every game once you set it up???
I can assign all the buttons but i cant use the right stick to aim, only the mouse. can anyone help?thecoolbro
Bf2 was not designed to use a controller so don't bother trying. you can use the controller when in vehicles or flying but anything else will be really slow especially when turning.
The Battlefield series also doesn't officially support joysticks, even though they work with flying the aircraft, so if it works its a bonus, but if it doesn't then don't expect a patch to fix it.
Just because Mr Gates wants PC users to use the 360 pad to win a "Games for Windows" badge it doesn't mean that software developers have to support it.

Not quite accurate. If a game for the PC has the "Games For Windows" logo AND supports controllers other than the mouse and keyboard, then it must support the 360 game pad. The game does not however have to support the extra features such as rumble functions. I have seen several games the give you the chance to enable the rumble feature, but it doesnt work. Many sites talk about the reasons as to why this is, but most agree that there was a screw up somewhere in the design of the controller and the PC will never be able to implement this feature correctly.

Rumble works fine on the PC w/ the 360 gamepad.
