Okay, I currently have a AMD X2 555BE, and I heard you could unlock the 3rd and fourth cores for it. Well it took me about 5 sec to do this and WOW! My whole computer runs faster getting 30 fps gains in certain games. All this for $100! Has anyone else done this?

Congrats, you've just saved some cash! Your CPU is a X2 of the simple reason that it didn't fill the recuirement for a Ph X4 on two off the core's, that's probably why not evryone that got a Ph X2 does that since all would would not be able to unlock when the problem is to bad to get it runnig at all. Better make sure your all four cores run's stable.

YES! Whoopi... HOLD ON! I have done this with two X2 550's the first broke and the second one my current CPU locked up and it took me a while to fix it but now it runs steady at 3.5GHz with two cores. They are really unstable, it will be fine for a month or two but eventually will fail on you, it will start of with random game crashes then go to BSOD till eventually it cr**'s out on you.
