I was just playing Assassin's Creed and the fact that it gets super gay at some points gets pretty annoying. I know probably the Japanese have the hardest video games but at least they are on like some hidden highest difficulty and they are gay from start to finish.
In for example Assassin's Creed, it suddenly gets super gay for like one mission and then back to being super easy of which I have never died a single time.
The gayest part I have played so far is the tag game where you win the golden mask. It's impossible to get the flag first unless you jump off the roof top and sacrifice all of your health. Also the enemy only needs to touch you to get the flag while you have to press like 5 buttons at the same time to get it back, which is made harder by the fact that he runs at the same speed as you do.
And now I'm stuck at what will probably overtake that and become the new gayest mission in game. It's one of the many assassinations where you have to kill some guy on a boat without being noticed anywhere at all. I mean come on, not only is it gay it doesn't make sense, Why does it matter anyway? Once I killed that guy while it is saying Desychronized or whatever word they use for game over.
All these wouldn't be too hard as I imagine, if the controls work better. for so many times Ezio hang on a wall for 5 seconds doing nothing while I'm trying to catch someone. For so many times Ezio jumps off a church tower and die when he could've jumped 5 degrees to the right and not died. For so many times Ezio stood still against a wall while 6 armored soldiers are wacking him with axes and claymores. I understand Assassin's Creed probably already have the best controls but that's not an excuse to make the game gay at some points. I mean I have never died or failed anything except these 2 gay spots and the carnival race thing which I took the wrong route like 23 times which was also pretty gay.
I think I a bit carried away there, the point is, there really are a lot of games like this. 95% easy and 5% impossible. Right now I can't think of much but for example Prince of Persia 4, I remember it's just smooth sail all the way until there was this one boss that I fought for an hour and she's still not dead ( because I "died" many many many times). Also remember Battlefield Bad Company 2 where you have to take down 2 choppers with missiles that doesn't aim that high, which means plain impossible if you don't do it in the first 3 seconds. I get first place all the time in Multiplayer and I still cannot beat that level on easiest difficulty. I beat that level with god mode and infinite rocket launcher and it took me 30 minutes. that was so gay I almost didn't buy the game.
Same for some racing games, like GRiD. I suddenly got to a race so hard I could not win it even after 30+ retries. But before that it was 1st place all the way.
I also have some counter examples, like Mirror's Edge. It's not an easy game, but it's not like just all the sudden in your face. it's difficulty gradually increased. Or, Dead Space, perfect difficulty, thought I rarely died it was still the most scary game I've ever played. And it wasn't annoying at all.
Speaking of hard games, I never tried to beat Resident Evil 5 without guns on Expert difficulty. But it was never gay on normal, I died a few times on the lasers but that was pretty much it. It was almost gay but not quite. Obviously I would break my keyboard if the only difficulty it had was Expert, but that wasn't the case.
