All I see on here is will I be able to run this game at max settings or not, and all that other crap.

Why would you wait on buying a Nvidia 8 series in favor of the 9 series which hasn't been confirmed.

The Nvidia 8's will run everything you throw at it.

But yea, from what I've seen PC gamers only care about graphics

The question is, why do console gamers care about the samething but all are always in denial about PC costs and PC IQ? We care about it cause we have it all, the best of the best, while others don't.

Because that's all we have to care about. There have only been tepid advances in AI, physics, and the other aspects of gameplay over the last decade, but graphics are the only one that have really been pushed forward at a spectacular rate. There's also gameplay to consider - while I don't recommend waiting more than a month or so for new technology or a price drop, people that recommend higher-end cards do have a point. Because games are becoming so graphically demanding, getting the bare minimum will often come around and bite you later. I don't recommend anything less than mid-range for anyone even somewhat serious about games, and I don't recommend low-end at all (might as well just stick with integrated).

Agreed, the best 2 cards out there is the 8600GTS and the 8800GTS.

I wouldn't recommend the 8600GTS, although the GDDR4 HD2600XT and the 8600GT aren't bad cards if you're shopping in the $150-$100 range, respectively.

If you can find an 8600GTS for $100, then I'd definitely recommend it. I haven't seen one for below $140 though.

Cause usually pc gamers are spending huge amounts of money on upgrades or new computers.

I think for the money we spend i expect max graphics on games.

Personally, I dont think PC gamers care about graphics as much as yo think, or at least not in the way you think they do. Asking if you will be able to "max out a game" is really asking how good system performance will be and how long will that hardware last you. When your buying a PC you want to know it can handle whats out there and handle it well because games are only going to become more demanding.

Plus who wants to spend a bunch of money on a machine that is just satisfactory. You want to be wowed by how great those new games look after the weeks or months of picking out parts, waiting fo the parts to arrive, and finally getting to put a new rig together. I dont think anybody cheers when their brand new machine can run new games at mid level graphics with mediocre fram rates.
