because $1000 pc is compared with $300 xboxTrooperManaic
Pretty much hit the nail on the head. Why not buy a $400 computer and a $300 console? you have everything you need there and you save money, and you dont have to keep spending $500 every 3 months on a new graphics card.
The only consoles I ever would consider buying are ps2, psp, and gba because I love rpgs along with turn based strategy and the computer offers little to none of the style of play i like for it.
lol, are you serious? my PC was about $400 dollars and it does SO MUCH MORE than any console. what console can you go on microsoft word and print stuff out? what console can you surf the internet on as fast as the PC without using that annoying keypad that is made to look like a keyboard. think about it, a PC does SO MUCH MORE than any console for cheaper. who cares about installation?? the PC doesnt freeze when you leave it on more than 6 hours, i leave mine on like weeks at a time. no annoying remotes you have to buy, the headsets are cheaper, online gameing and tournament are made possible by going on website to set them up. programs like teamspeak allow many people to communicate even when they arent playing a game. And name a console that allows you to see all the games you have right on a desktop??? And my last point, you dont have to have the disk in to plat some games like call of duty 4 online. And there are free games like America's Army.SF_KiLLaMaN
$300 console kicks the ass out of a $400 computer gaming wise(assuming keyboard, monitor, etc is included in cost). Although, you do pay for with about $10 more per game. Most people will buy a cheap laptop and get a console for gaming with friends. Seems like computers are geared towards online.
I don't own a current generation console but I do own a last generation one (and a light gaming PC of course).
1. It's cheaper (well it use to be).
2. It's simpler, most of the time you just put in the game and play without installing, optimizing, and worry about errors and glitches (GeoW pc....).
3. I like to play multiplayer with people in the same room. Mario Kart with 4 ppl = fun.
4. There are games that can't really be found elsewhere. Where else am I gonna play LoZ: TP??
I never got the appeal of consoles expect may be wanting to play fighting games or sports games.
My pc does so much more and then some.
Guess I don't have an answer for that one.
May be you should post over into one of the console forums.
If you don't mind taking on a lynch mob.
Long live the glorious PC Gaming master race

I was wanting to play Oblivion and have a blast of this experience. I could have just purchase the game and install it on my PC...but...then the experience wouldn't have been the same on many levels. See, the controller, the interface, the sitting area, the game was tested for the 360 performance exactly, wouldn't have been tested for my PC exactly, devs assume it would work properly on my PC...but they are clueless, it might not work as intended no matter what they say, PCs are never easy to understand.
I dunno, I really love Oblivion on the 360. I wouldn't have played it 30 minutes on my PC; I really don't care about mods. See, I enjoy Oblivion quite much, but not enough to go with some nonsense I can deal with for computer games. Am I spoiled? Most certainly.
If you want 1 final example...my PC would be my wife. My 360, the bathroom loner experience. I wouldn't stop masturbate the day I get a wife, nor expect her to fullfill...well, you get my point, don't you?
Later, OverLord adds another good reason for the 360...so I am quite happy with it. Maybe I will try Lost Odyssey, and Mass Effect if it drop to $20 on the 360 before then on the PC (hahaha, I decide it was worth that much, not 1 penny more, but that would be another topic).
I prefer my PC to my 360. But...I also enjoy the 360!
seriously, why do people buy 360's and ps3's??? Most people have computers in their homes. It is a fact, it costs LESS to upgrade a PC to play most game than to buy a console. It took me $150 to upgrade my computer to 1 1/2 gigs of ram and a 8400 Nvidia video card to play ALL of the game that come out for PC with 360 graphics!.most of the games that come out for 360 and ps3 come out for PC. It is also a FACT that PC can have WAY better graphics than 360 and is possible to have better graphics than PS3 if you get a good enough graphics card and physix card, still about $200 less than a console. and it is WAY easier to play PC FPS than on consoles. and it has its own genre , RTS's are BUILT around the PC, they put some on cosoles but most arent good. It just doesnt make sence to me to buy a console. 1l last thing, PC games's online is WAY better, on 360 you can have about a 20 player max game, battlfield 2 has 64 player max games.SF_KiLLaMaNNot if you're still using a Pentium 3 or Athlon XP PC,you can't put a 8800GT or even a 8600GT in one of those.
And there ARE games on consoles that you CAN'T get on PC,especially for the Wii,SSBB anyone?
