A friend of mine recently bought mw2 for his computer and we both sat down and played the game for the good portion of the day he'd installed and it was awesome to play. I just don't see why people have made such a big fuss over all the 'problems' that the pc version of the game has. We also tried out the multiplayer component and it was brilliant fun. There wasn't any lag at all and most of all there weren't any cheaters. Another thing that people were complaining about was the matchmaking or the lack of it. I definitely enjoyed the multiplayer and though i had some trouble adjusting from cod waw it was still great to play even though the server we were playing on was full of people above rank 30. The other thing that there were complains about was the fact that it costs what was it, 10 dollars more than the console versions? The pc version of the game is by far superior in terms of graphics AND controls in comparison the ps3 version just looks washed out and really bland and my console experience with it was nowhere near as fun as it was on pc due to the hindered console controls. The difference between the two versions of the game that I played, in terms of graphics and controls was definitely enough to justify the extra cost. Another thing too, we didn't happen to run into any hackers at all. So then could anyone tell me what the big issue was with the game? I'm really curious to find out because so far I've only had a positive experience with the game.

Hmm, let's see. Infinity Ward stabbed the PC gaming community in the back.

The game is a console port.
No dedicated servers.
Online play is laggy.
No modding.
They raised the price because they are greedy twits.

I could keep going...

How is it a console port? It looks brilliant and runs fantastically and i didn't run into any lag at all when i played it online but i will agree with you on the subject of modding that it should have been allowed.

The game can be very laggy at times, and I often have a lot of host problems. If anyone denies those two problems, they probably haven't played enough. Actually, if you haven't run into any hackers... I KNOW you haven't played enough.

You got lucky.

There is no difference between the PS3 version and the PC version, other than graphics, oh yeah and text chat!

It's not that it's more expensive than the console versions, it's the fact that it costs the same as the console versions. PC games have been $50 for a long time, and I don't see any reason to spend an extra $10 for an updated Modern Warfare 1 experience, let alone the first $50. The lack of dedicated servers and mods irks me. But it's the lack of a "lean" control that put the nail in the coffin for me.

Also, please separate your post into paragraphs, it was very hard to read.

Good thing i still keep this in my account, just for some epic lulz. Of course after looking at it again my reaction is: I dont really care about the game, if you are having fun with the game than kudos to you, but people trying to defend the game and justify the price are just being silly.

I wish I could sig that image just to make threads like this easier to answer to. It captures my problem with MW2 perfectly.

Its like this. Someone started selling really awesome double cheeseburgers and the whole world really likes it. Then this guy said "I'm going to sell a newer version of my super awesome doublecheeseburger" but he took out the cheese,, reduce the meat patty to one and make the whole thing smaller YET he charges more than the first one. Its still a decent burger but hey, its also still an obvious rip-off. Thats kinda hows the situation is with MW 2.

No it was the same price as the console versions, but it's 10 dollars more than most every PC game. And it has a short single player.

As a comparative to MW anyway. Need one for a comparison between MW2 on each console to truly explain why it's not worth it on PC

This. The multiplayer ran ok, it had lag from time to time, but that isn't the main problem, for me at least, the problem is that it absolutely sucks in any way possible, the gameplay is horrible compared to previous CoDs, even worse than W@W which I didn't like at all, the physics, the movement, the shooting, the scripted AI which imo is worse than having hordes of AI respawning in your face (which really happened only in W@W, you get enemies only in your face, the previous CoDs had just a few moments like that but W@W is all about seeing the enemies respawn). The only good thing about it is the cinematic feel of the campaign, but the game is too horrible for me to enjoy that. Can't stand the game more than 10 minutes now, it's just too bad.

Well if Modern Warafre 2 had legs, Infinity Ward literally chooped them off brutally with an axe and just left Modern Warfare 2 to bleed out and suffer. The game is just downright crippled on the pc having lack of options and even no LAN! To newbies Modern Warfare 2 would be fine and to me its ok but me to and to the vetrans and seasoned players, Modern Warfare 2 is just ridiculiously tweaked and could've been so much more.

You may not feel anything bad about it today or tommorow but soon you're gonna start feeling some frustrations to the multiplayer, believe me.

It was so ridiculous when Infinity Ward was interviewed for such outrages, they said the pc versionw ill have special features like mouse controls, grahics setting and etc! No im not joking and even if i was it would be the saddest vido gaming joke ever. Would you believe Infinity Ward said such a ridiculous thing!?! and everybody who interviewed Infinity Ward and read or heard the interview got into more of an outrage! Oh such moments back then.

That's a problem IW created. Hackers could normally be kicked and banned by the Host but since there is no dedicated servers we are playing on Infinity Ward's server rules and those rules say we can't kick or ban anyone.

Singleplayer is way too short, more expensive, and too consolish
