Why do people hate Emachines?

I was looking into buying a new PC and i hear such terrible things bout emachines.

Why do people dislike them so much

?

Because they are smart enough to include 1GB of memory with a Vista system.

That and they make the best looking cases.

Vista does fine on 1GB for general use, im talking web, email, IM, ms word kind of use. Sure 2GB is faster, but the type of person who is buying an emachine is not real performance consious, lol.

I'm running Vista Premium 32-bit and it hogs up 1GB of memory just surfing the web.

I've run Vista on 1gb. You can open several apps without slowing down to the point of hd thrashing...
