I just paid $49.99 for World in Conflict and the game is in a paper Sleeve. No DVD case, no traditional CD jewel case. JUST A PAPER piece of S$#%. Plus they had to place the verification code on the paper sleeve instead of the manual or anything that has a remote chance of not being lost.

Maybe thats why xbox 360 game are $10 more.

So they can save money? I'd do that too, because when they start playing the game, they wouldn't care where it came from.

they do that because getting people to actually buy games instead of pirate them is really hard, so they dont want to spend alot on packegaing

Man, even my Sam & Max Season 1 came in a nice DVD keep case with the manual properly wedged inside. Meanwhile, my Oblivion came in a paper sleeve like you mentioned - alongside a boring, featureless map and a manual. I still keep it. I want to someday mail it back to Bethesda with words "My copy of Oblivion came in this. Next time, please respect me" written on it. I guess some publishers are just more cheap than others.

I agree, I absolutely loath paper cases.

They're so bloody easy to lose as well, I've lost a couple of disks that were in paper holders, and I've never ended up finding them again; although that might be slightly my fault as well :P.

Any game publisher who isnt using the standard plastic dvd case, is way behind the times. Hopefully Vivendi will notice that the new packaging is becoming more of a recognizable figure in PC gaming.
