hi guys.
So im moving house today and needed to put my pc in a box, needless to say it didnt fit so i thought ide go buy a new case (my old one was ugly and didnt have good air flow).
So i buy an Antec sonata 3 thinking its gonna be great. anyway i installed the intake fan and everything else, looks sexy. i start playing crysis and after 45 mins it crashes... my 8800gts has overheated. It didnt do this in my old case.
Im thinking its my power supply. my old one was 650 watts (crappy brand) but didnt have a pci-e6 pin and not many connectors. and it was LOUD. So could it be the antec 500 earthwatts thats causing my overheating?
If this helps i have 3 hdd's connected to 4 pin molex. 1 sata DVD burner, 8800gts, extra cooling fan for 8800 4 pin molex, creative audigy soundcard (small floppy power connector), and a pci/firewire card. All of these are cramped next to eachother. Everythiong is pretty much setup exactly the same as it was in my old case.
I cant test till next week as its in the box and on its way to my new house.
any light shed on this issue would be awesome! CHEERS!!
