Why haven't we seen a true sucessor to Sim City 4 yet? That game was awesome! It still is, but its age is showing.

I know Maxis sold the franchise to some other company. I wonder why they haven't done anything with it, or why another company hasn't made a good city builder akin to SimCity4?

Maybe because SimCity Societies tried too hard to turn it into a "normal" computer game and the devs are wondering what to do next to restore the brand's reputation.

Although for me, the last great SimCity game was SC3k. 4 required far too much micromanagement for my tastes.

No thats bad. Fun game. It's cool to watch and develop you're city into a metropolis. Some say SC 2000 was the best but I enjoyed 3 and 4 a lot.
