The only reason why I dont really like this game is because of the sense of lonliness. It ust feels so wierd and makes me not want to play it. Like in Call of Duty games u always have troops withyou, in crysis ur on ur own vs like a lot of ppl. I got the same feelign with Bioshock (the sense of loniless), but I kinda liked Bioshock. Maybe I feel like this because I used to MMO's. But did any1 else feel this way?

You occasionally get team mates in Crysis Warhead.

I agree on lonliness, but Crysis never gave me that feeling, half life 2 gave me that feeling a lot but episode 2 fixed that and I loved it.

Crysis never gave me that feeling, since you always have buddies with the radio chatter and stuff, but as the guy above agreed, Half life gives me that feeling comepletely, especially the first one since there are no friends nor characters.

But I don't like being alone D: but Hl2 isn't the exactly right game to do that, because you are a refrigerator man who takes 5000 bullets, and you can jump quake 3 style.

I disagree. If that was HL aim then they woudn't have paired you up with Alyx and Dog and all the other scientists and resistance fighters at times. That doesn't mean HLsucceeded at it because in the end it makes me feel all alone [for the wrong reasons] and overpowered [one man takes down alien invasion with a crowbar].

Crysis I would say is more fiting with the story. Your whole team is dead leavingyou all alone. But it does a better job of creating a conflict where you run into other soldiers and teammates more often [just wish psycho was actually useful in the original].

BTW the only thing i hate aboutCrysis is that it has no KNIFE.who goes into a jungle with no knife? how cool would it be if you could go into stealth andknife a soldier then leave em hanging on a tree for the other soldiers to see....

Do you turn up your sound system loud enough? I think that might help from being so lonely.

At some points it is like that. But really the strength lies in the way it allows you to approach the objective solo and use your own strategy to outwit the ai. It'd make a great horror game too but I prefer the setting because it allows for some nice palm tree shadow effects :D

Agreed, one of my very first PC games was the original Tomb Raider, the feeling of loneliness (and they don't get much more solo than TR) only added incredible Atmosphere to the game, making it a classic.

Crysis is much more social than either FarCry or Half-Life, but to me, in a single-player game, being alone is usually a big positive.

There are shooters which are not squad-based people. It happens constantly.

and about loneliness, it's just the open-world design, depends on the taste.

as you move further in the game your buddies will fight along side of you , like in the tank battle and in warhead in the snow levels alot. But the demo does feel lonely a bit now that you say. go into options and keyboard mouse setup there you should be able to map the keys for the suit.

My only gripe about Crysis was that the last quarter of the game wasn't as good as the first.

Yeah, it kinda makes us feel safe and better to have allies and no friends to fight with at all eh? Doom 3 made me feel the same way, except there were transmissions and some units you were suppose to have help, but hell I'm deaf and it doesn't have any captions, so I can't understand what the say anyway.

I'm talking about the atmosphere makes me feel so loney while I'm playing the game. I still like it, but I dont thiknk is super awesome like other people.

I didn't really feel alone in any significant way in Crysis. I mean, firstly, you're part of a team and secondly your team is attached to a pretty large military unit. You might be alone in the sense that you rarely have other people with you, but you're no one man army.

Hell i don't even like crysis.

I feel that it is souless in many ways and it's very cold.

i don't understand what's all the fuss about when i come to this game as i can't see anything interesting in it.

But again that may be called difrrent taste...the game looks great and had some nice action packed into it but that's it from my prospective.

sataricon
Action packed scenes .... tick Looks Great ... tick Fun .... tick And you still didn't like it? where you expecting a deep meaningful story? Look, if the game is fun, has good action and controls, and on top of that is the best looking game out there....it gets a YES from me....

I never really got that feeling, you are a super-soldier, you don't need teammates. Think of it like this: Superman doesn't have a teammate, a teammate would only slow him down. I'm glad you are alone in Crysis.

In general gaming teammate AI hasn't advanced nearly enough for me to want teammates in an open-world game like crysis. They would only slow me down. Squad based shooters of today often rely on havily scripted and linear maps to make the AI seem intelligent.

Nope, I've had the same feeling in many, many games, but Crysis is definitely not among them. But that's probably just because I was too busy admiring the environment and the multitude of ways I could kill things and make them dead. XD

Will yah man you are right i admit that the game does look impressive and i like good FPS myself but the problem was that i didn't feel that thing...

Like say when you first played halflife...you know what i mean?

A super solider in the jungle trying to kill some bad guys "they must be bad right" and some aliens shows up...ETC...not unique enough for me.

I admit that i did like farcry 1 but that's it...you aren't super and also it was fun at sometimes.

I see your point of view... but remember that a game doesn't have to be unique to be fun and worthwhile. Hell, it's really hard to make a game UNIQUE these days...
