If you were to take Call of Duty out of the title everything would be different.Vexx88Well said. Mw2 got enough hate to ruin the CoD franchise forever... or the reputation at least. "Battlefield: Black Ops 2" Now that...

odds are if they did that i might actually try it. if they distanced themselves in a big way from the CoD franchise i might give a foot it even exists.
i hated mw2 and i didnt even pay for my copy lol (it came free with my gpu)

naw it just sounds that way sometimes. Like when some old guy always complains about his wife, but he really actually loves her with all his heart.
I prefer both BC2 and BOps. Two entirely different styles of play, but both equally fun depending on the mood.
MW2 had no dedi servers, that I understand, major flaw. But Black Ops is... so... fun... and... awesome
You can't run a server out of your house.
It's COD.
The PC version needed multiples patches to run properly because of poor optimization. I can max this game out and get into the 100 fps but that game is normally 30-60 for me and oddly even lower than 30 at times because of how it was programmed.
Less teamwork, strategy, balance and smaller maps than Battlefield.
I like Black Ops, but it has it's fair share of flaws.
Just cause people love to hate on popular things, they did it with halo and with wow too. People love to feel "better" then the general population, and their elitism clouds their vision of a really good game. I mean what other game is as polished as mw 2 and Bo? I am by no means a cod fanboy, i stoped playing it regularly after cod 4, but no other fps that i have played, including bfbc 2 which i love, has as smooth animations and as polished graphics. With the glitches and exploits, thats what happens when you have as many people playing the game as you do in BO. If that many people played bfbc 2, they would find as many glitches, and i would guarentee that we would be discusing how bfbc 2 sucks right now.
Im not saying that cod is perfect, far from it, i can make a whole list of things that drive me crazy in mw 2. But to say that it is a terrible game is just wrong
Lolwat? No people don't like to hate on popular things just for the hell of it. It's that the masses love mediocrity, ie. McDonalds, MW2, Oblivion, Xbox 360, etc. MW2 is the most polished game ever, huh? LOL...Just cause people love to hate on popular things, they did it with halo and with wow too. Ummm, your exactly the kind of elitist im talkin about. You think that oblivion and mw 2 are mediocre??? so what would you call a great game then, Bfbc 2 lol?? it has as many faults as BO does. It just isnt as popular so people dont take the time to bash it.And people like mcdonlds because its cheap

Where exactly are these faults? And do these faults make for a $40-50 difference?

Oblivion was a dumbed down console game. MW2 is a joke.
The predecessors to both these games were much much better.
Balance? You're kidding me. Bad Company 2 has very poor balance, while BOps has some of the best balance I've seen. That's the only way the prestige system would even work(although I don't like the idea of leveling up 700+ times), while in BC2, you had a pretty major disadvantage in the starting levels. BalanceIt's COD.

Actually they do. However they are always a minority amongst the people who hate things. When the Dark Knight came out, there were some self-titled movie critics who hated the movie because everyone else liked it....
But on Black Ops, I have spent maybe less than 2 hours on the Campaign on Veteran and seem to have gotten half way through it. Its too easy. And whats really strange about the game, is that the only time i really got stuck was on the Cuba level near the start. After you run through a Sugar field you come to a cliff overlooking an airfield. You have to run down a cliff on a rope or something while getting shot at. You can't fire back, and you can't defend yourself, so you end up getting shot to ribbons. I had to spend like 10 minutes retrying the thing until I got lucky...

Those arent good reasons why oblivion and mw 2 suck. you cant escape the fact that the games got 9/10 reviews and that they are better than most of the games out there. Are you going to tell me that mw 2 is as bad asrogue warrior next?? And of course the predecessors are always better, things are always better when they are new. You cant change the formula if its working, people say that bo is just like mod of cod 4, well what do you want from a call of duty game, an mmo?Don't get me started on BC2's boring as hell campaign. Besides, that's what the Multiplayer is for :) Now before someone starts flaming be for being a fanboy, let me just point out that I have both games, and I believe I'm entitled to an opinion. But on Black Ops, I have spent maybe less than 2 hours on the Campaign on Veteran and seem to have gotten half way through it. Its another COD4 with different packaging, generic weapons, and new maps....basically a mod for $60.coolmonkeykidIt's not, because CoD 4 was actually good, even WaW was better than MW 2 and BO and I didn't like WaW at all.
Just the fact that you bought CoD means you support Bobby Kotick...trastamad03You see, it's posts like this that surprise me the most, yet get me to understand why people hate the game: Just because it's Call of Duty.
I don't enjoy CoD multiplayer, the singleplayer's too short and it's made by Activision. Black Ops must be the only game on Steam that isn't on sale right now. They are asking full price (which in the case of Black Ops is higher than usual) for it, when Bad Company 2 is 66% off. That shows how much I'm into supporting Activision.RK-MaraBad Company 2 came out almost a year ago, Black Ops came out last month...
MW2 had no dedi servers, that I understand, major flaw. But Black Ops is... so... fun... and... awesome :D Maybe it's just me, but I personally like the game more than Bad Company 2, you level up faster, it's quick paced, sniping is a lot more useless(unlike the recon campers in BC2), and everything seems just right. So why the hate? Realy...SkullShooter17
Counter Strike Source did it first, did it better, goes on sale all the time, and costs 40 dollars less no matter what. Black Ops costs 60 bucks, you need a better computer to run it, and basically copies most aspects of CS:S. Thats why I hate it.

Um... Css is not even close to what Black Ops is. I'm not saying it's not better, it is, but it's a completely different game. The only thing the two share are guns and the first person view...Those arent good reasons why oblivion and mw 2 suck. you cant escape the fact that the games got 9/10 reviews and that they are better than most of the games out there. 9/10 reviews? Lol, you sure don't let anything get past you. All of those reviews were paid off and/or done by idiots. They are not better than other games out there. Like I said Morrowind is better than Oblivion and Bad Company 2 is better than MW2. MW2 sucks, it's a $60 mod. Hmm, I dunno, make a more complex game with better graphics, gameplay, maps, and teamwork? Bad Company 2 comes to mind.

So, ALL of the reviews were paid off and done by idiots, huh?? LOL of course you know, right. You should be reviewer you know. bfbc 2 is better than mw 2, so therefore mw 2 sucks, great logic there. And mw 2 is a mod of cod 4?? I can say the same about bfbc 2 with bfbc 1, except theres regenerating health in bfbc 2. Mw 2 was a more complex game than cod 4 with customizeable killstreaks, more attachments and perks, it did have substantially better graphics than cod 4, and you want "better gameplay"?? Uhhh cod4 was one of the most successful game this generation, why fix something thats not broken?? And teamwork?? Since when was cod ever about teamwork, sounds like your trying to make cod into a bfbc 2 clone. Your not getting my point, bfbc 2 is a great game, so is mw 2 and BO. Just cause mw 2 and Bo dont have bfbc 2's style of play doesnt make it terrible.Like Bad Company 2's broken Play Now feature? Appalled that they still haven't fixed it.I have more technical difficulties with this game than any other purchase I made this year. Well, more like the server browsing pissing right in my face half the time.

Not only does BFBC2 encourage team play, it's destruction and vehicles give the game a much deeper gameplay. Oh and map packs for PC (and Console VIPs) are FREE

COD: BO is 60 bucks. BF:BC2 is 6.80 on Steam. BC2 is a better game, and it's cheaper. Activision is money-hungry without proper innovation or value for the customer.
Esoteric
No, they are just not r*****s. Why would they lower the price on blops if it's still selling very well at full price? BC2, however, is obviously not doing well. Hence the ridiculous price they had it going for.

Sure that matters, but really the maps between these two games are hardly apples to apples. BC2 maps are probably 5-6 times as big as the maps in CoD. Takes a bit more effort to create maps of this size.
