Why is it latley the PC has been getting tons of crappy multi platform ports, and delayed releases? Will this continue to happen? If it is I might just give up PC Gaming and move back to the terribly expensive console once I get a job...

IMO PC Gaming is headed downhill because every kid on the block most likley has an console vs a beefy gaming rig. And all game developers care about now days in this struggling economy is money so they'll just do whatever brings in most profit. And as a result nothing but PC Gamer neglect...

/sigh

I understand what you're getting at. If I could change anything it'd be the delayed releases. But, one thing I find PC gaming will always hold over console gaming is longevity, If I don't have a new PC game to play, I can have fun playing something like Counter-Strike instead.

You'd rather play inferior versions just to play them sooner?

Not another one of these threads...

Yes, we know multiplatform titles dumbs down games. Yes, PC exclusives are getting more and more rare. Can we move on?:(

If he wants to discuss PC gaming and the future of it, this is the forums to do it. He can disuss it if he wants and you don't need to read the thread or post in it if you don't want to hear about it and move on. You clicked on the thread so just deal. I feel PC gamers have some of the best games that ever were released...and I feel the future only holds more for us PC gamers.

I recently cannot get Fallout 3 working on my new brand new, beast-like gaming rig that does Crysis on Very High. And I have received no support or solutions from Bethesda.

Its times like these I wish I was a console gamers. Even more, its times like this which will eventually drive me the dark side.

I cannot afford to waste 110 dollars like this again, I will think again before buying a multi-plat thats for sure

There is only one way to go.

We don't always get the shaft. That's mainly Ubisoft making games that don't appeal to the PC audience and then tearing up about how the pirates steal their money or something just as dumb.

You know. I'd never had any problems getting a game to run on my pc except for old games like System Shock 2.

Bad ports though? Recently we've had very good ports with Dead Space being the latest, and GTA IV coming soon with more content and upgraded graphics.

Crysis, Crysis: Warhead, The Witcher, and Sins of a Solar Empire were all fantastic games that we've exclusively gotten within the last year or so. Not too mention all the RTS's and MMO's we have.

I recently cannot get Fallout 3 working on my new brand new, beast-like gaming rig that does Crysis on Very High. And I have received no support or solutions from Bethesda.

110 dollars? Is that what you paid for Fallout 3? Jeez.

Well, the kind of people who thinks that PC gaming is dying is the same kind of people who play games based on hyped. Why play a game after the hyped died down? There will be another hyped game by then!

What? Last i checked PC has its own exclusives and many games launch on PC at the same time, is the OP serious? Fro every Gears 2 and fable II there is Crysys amd Warhead, Stalker, The Witcher, Diablo III, Starcraft, etc... Re5 was just announced as coming to PC the same time as console. it workls both ways, Consoles will get Dragon Age after PC,a s well as Age of Conan.

We don't have a representative to fight for high profile exclusives and enforce quality control.

That isn't necessarily a bad thing though, game companies that could never compete on consoles thrive on PC; plus we have more freedom than any other gaming platform. It is a reason many of these big shot companies started out as PC exclusive developers, console companies didn't want anything to do with them until they were big and popular.

Absolutely- they want a console to do every darn thing it can, so why not go PC? It's an unspoken realization of fanboys that the PC is still more versatile, but console makers also know that,so market harder to stay alive.

PC gaming may be in a slump now, but that's because the whole industry is..(all games getting Ho Hum) I think the PC will still be the 'winner' here, it has the best chance of surviving this slump. Console makers just have more money to waste-so they get more attention.

I semi agree with this thread, consoles are making PC games crappier. I believe the PC version of games should always be released first and then stripped of pretty graphics and size for teh pitiful consoles. Do yourself a favor - check out some older games man. There are soo many GREAT older PC games, try like GOG.com or steam and find some older stuff. There are still quite a few PC exclusives coming out too, just gotta be patient :)

Time for you to look into everything the PC has to offer in terms of exclusives. I get the feeling you are only looking at games like Crysis. Both consoles and PC offer many unique gaming experiences that you cannot get anywhere else, choosing one over the other if you are a gamer is unwise. Budget your money accordingly and you should be able to do both.
