So today, I switched to a Vista, but my mouse, which was demented before on an XP, is still messed up on the new computer. The scroller wheel is just messed up, and is sporadic, so I just never use it anymore, and it's not the mouse, the wheel scrols fine and all, except anot on the computer but the pointer keeps jumping everywhere. Sometimes, it just, for whatever reason, goes off on its own all the way to a corner or something, and it messes me up.

I KNOW it's not the mouse, since I tried it on my PS3 and it worked perfectly fine, the scroller wheel, the mouse... everything... and it's not the computer, unless there is some coincidence that's of very very small chance (less than 1%, I'd guess), so what is it?

Is it a wireless mouse? I used to have trouble with a wireless mouse, and the problem was that the receiver was blocked by the back of my computer and the desk. After moving it into the open to a front USB port, it worked fine. Another possibility, assuming a wireless, is interference from other wireless signals (cell phone, laptop, Wii, etc.) If your mouse isn't wireless, I have no suggestions.
