Im wondering if i should get this pc.. I dont have a pc of my own so i was looking for a good one for a low price.. I dont want to build by own cause i dont have that kind of time. but for this pc i have a graphics card to put in it.. im just wondering why its so cheap? lol

Does anyone recommend I buy it?

HERE IT IS

what kind of games will it play nicely?

at the moment i just really want to use it to play WoW and Counter strike 1.6.. not very demanding games like crysis or World at War.. so i will have time to upgrade if i want to..

Probably the most demanding game i would want to play is Dawn of War 2..

With a 300W PSU, you're not really going to get much use out of it if you're planning on putting a graphic card in. At the very least you'd want a good 400W PSU; like the Corsair 400W. If you can get a half-way decent GPU working in that computer, you shouldn't have any problems playing most games (depending on resolution and your GPU) anywhere from mid to high settings.

while removing the os you upgrade ur self to a +150$ value Video card by increase ur cap at 500$ instead of 452$ ?
how about a 4850 as minimum and for more high performances level There would be 260GTX / 4870 512 or 1GB

But soon a 4890 release at around same price as 4870 1GB : 199-250$US : which would Lead to release of nvidia 275GTX but that would be down performances 285GTX which would make the 4890 As Leading in powerfull Card in therm of single power probably as it state it could be easly +20% more power then 4870

How ever it didn't state if it was Also Better Then 4870 1GB and if it did include the 1GB overclocked as sapphire Toxic 4870 1GB
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2009/02/23/sapphire-ati-radeon-hd-4870-1gb-toxic/1

Also a good Quesiton to you : what ur monitor max Resolution 1280x1024 ? 1680x1050 ?

It's cheap because it has a crappy Phenom "Quad Core" processor with only 1.8GHz. (GHz is important for games)

Because it has an integrated video card.

Because it's a Gateway.

If you have the time to game, why don't you have the time to build?

Hey hey c'mon now, the fellas's just wanting some advice from ppl who know about PC's better than he does, just because you game don't mean you have to build your own. Some folk just don't have the time or the knowledge to do that, they just want to play games like your average Joe(and why shouldn't this be accomplishable by buying one prebuilt? you only need to know what you should look for and chances are you'll find a company who'll do it for you).

Look bud there's really just a few things you should be looking for

1) at least a Dual or quad-core CPU (Intel Core 2 Quad or Core 2 Duo's are good options)

2) atleast 2GB RAM

3) Get a Comp with at least a GeForce 9800GTX /GTX260 OR even better a Radeon HD4850/4870 Graphics card(leave integrated GPU's out, they aren't powerful enough for games at all)

4) a decent sized Hard drive (320GB+)

5) AT LEAST A GOOD 500-600W Power supply, I highlight this cause it'll make a big difference down the line if you decide to add more stuff to your rig later on, you'll need the extra power a good PSU can deliver, don't go with no-name units, ask the system builder to confirm exactly the bits they're using and make sure they're from good brands like Corsair, Silverstone, Lian Li, Enermax, Antec, Thermaltake, BeQuiet or PC Power & Colling.

Oh and as a side note, it's best not to buy from DELL, gateway or HP since alot of thier systems (particularly budget ones) come with very limited expansion options for upgradeing down the road, better to go with an independent builder like Novatech or MESH (if your in the UK) or I suppose Cyberpower, Chillblast, Velocity Micro,Vadim (though thiey're quite expensive),Scan Computers.

Ask some of the others for other good builders, and if you want more detailed info I can look about for you.

Cheers

Sam The Bam

While I agree that getting a good 500-600W psu is preferable, on a budget you cant always go for the best. Kaitanuvax's build is excellent. Add OS and you're set.

Yes, that's true about the PSU, but a Good budget model like The Antec Earthwatts 500 costs only $69.99 from Newegg.com and it's SLI/Crossfire ready and 80PLUS Efficiency rating, so you can still get a decent unit for a good price. it's an investment really buying a good PSU, so you should really stretch your budget a bit more here.

apprentyl Elite Destroyer want To have this but it cause it as already OS + Better then is Parent Pentium 4 2.6GHZ
But he would get this monitor as well http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236057

Currently I'm trying to make a Better build then There build For Lower money and with all that include that are Essential Part of PC you guy got any idea?
Budget PC build For Low optimized gaming is not my Best Speciality and speaking with other could being a better collaboration
he might as well not get pc a pc upgrade before summer For Diablo 3 Beta How Ever

I think how ever i'm getting close to defeat them at there game of budget pc
instead id go based on kaituvax buidl but removing the video card combo !
And putting a cheap motherboard with build-in video card that is Better then Ibuypower / Cyberpower. if you conclude that theory.. it would be Better
now time to applicate it

Here's a prebuilt PC in your price range.

http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/saving/show.asp?id=1862610

You'll be able to upgrade that one, unlike that Gateway. (but be aware that motherboard doesn't support SLI)

Also, that price doesn't include an OS. Oh and if you google "Cyberpowerpc coupons" you should be able to find something that can at least get you 5% off.

Wow, if you wanted an OS, all you had to do was include one in the build.

EDIT: Found a much cheaper one:

http://www.amazon.com/Windows-Vista-64-bit-System-Builders/dp/B0015M2OB0/ref=sr_1_33?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1237171057&sr=8-33

New Total: $538

Don't know why Newegg overprices OS's.

Go. With. kaitanuvax's build. It's INCREDIBLE how much better than graphics card and the build in general will be compared to those two that you looked at. Btw, the one in the op is a pretty bad deal.

If you build your own PC, you'll get a computer that is easily twice as powerful as a pre-built for the same amount of money.
