Does anyone recommend I buy it?
HERE IT IS
what kind of games will it play nicely?

It's cheap because it has a crappy Phenom "Quad Core" processor with only 1.8GHz. (GHz is important for games)
Because it has an integrated video card.
Because it's a Gateway.
If you have the time to game, why don't you have the time to build?
Hey hey c'mon now, the fellas's just wanting some advice from ppl who know about PC's better than he does, just because you game don't mean you have to build your own. Some folk just don't have the time or the knowledge to do that, they just want to play games like your average Joe(and why shouldn't this be accomplishable by buying one prebuilt? you only need to know what you should look for and chances are you'll find a company who'll do it for you). Look bud there's really just a few things you should be looking for
1) at least a Dual or quad-core CPU (Intel Core 2 Quad or Core 2 Duo's are good options)
2) atleast 2GB RAM
3) Get a Comp with at least a GeForce 9800GTX /GTX260 OR even better a Radeon HD4850/4870 Graphics card(leave integrated GPU's out, they aren't powerful enough for games at all)
4) a decent sized Hard drive (320GB+)
5) AT LEAST A GOOD 500-600W Power supply, I highlight this cause it'll make a big difference down the line if you decide to add more stuff to your rig later on, you'll need the extra power a good PSU can deliver, don't go with no-name units, ask the system builder to confirm exactly the bits they're using and make sure they're from good brands like Corsair, Silverstone, Lian Li, Enermax, Antec, Thermaltake, BeQuiet or PC Power & Colling.
Oh and as a side note, it's best not to buy from DELL, gateway or HP since alot of thier systems (particularly budget ones) come with very limited expansion options for upgradeing down the road, better to go with an independent builder like Novatech or MESH (if your in the UK) or I suppose Cyberpower, Chillblast, Velocity Micro,Vadim (though thiey're quite expensive),Scan Computers.
Ask some of the others for other good builders, and if you want more detailed info I can look about for you.
Cheers
