This 55" Vizio 1080p 3D LCD HDTV is $2000.

This 65" Vizio 1080p 3D LCD HDTV is $3500 - nearly twice the price just for an extra 10".

The price difference seems awfully significant for just 10". Why would the 2nd tv cost so much more than the 1st one? Am I missing something?

Once TVS go above 60 inches they REALLY start to get expensive. I went to Saturn electronics in Germany once on a school trip. I saw a Sony 70" LCD TV that cost €22,995 back in summer 2008. They had a 50 inch LCD TV which was similar that cost under €7000.

Also.. in Dubai I remmeber seeing a $40,000+ 103 inch Panasonic Plasma. The picture quality was no better than the 50" next to it that cost $3000.

The 65" TV is 40% bigger than the 55" TV so expect to pay for diminishing returns..
