I have two questions...

Why doesn't DC comics create games like how Marvel does? With Marvel you have a number of games to choose from including the recent Hulk game and Iron Man. Would'nt a Superman game or Batman game sell well for D.C comics.

Also i havn't bought the new hulk game yet, but i'm thinking about it! For those that have the game or played it is it like the Spiderman 3 game where you havego thru all kinda stupid tests?

Haven't played Hulk on the PC, but if it plays like the other versions, don't expect much (check the gamespot reviews). If you want a GOOD Hulk game, play Ultimate Destruction, the old Hulk game. That one was pretty awesome. But it was only for the original Xbox, PS2, and maybe Gamecube, if I recall.

As for DC Comics, well, there is the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs DC (lol). Not sure why they don't try to do more games, but I guess maybe the old batman and super man games didn't really do well, and I guess they've avoided it since. However, that was do to poor developers. Get someone decent to sign on to make a game, and they stand to make a lot of money.

wasn't there a lego batman game? i think there were other superman and batman games as well. and i remember playing this superman game at the arcades - it was pretty good.

it would be cool to have more games based on comic books, i guess, but superman or batman or anything marvel or dc don't really interest me all that much. graphic novels seem cooler. but i'm not a huge comic book fan. i've only read a few japanese comic books in my time (and very, very, very few american ones).

Yeah they are making Lego Batman. Not sure when it is supposed to come out or if it is already out or what. But I did enjoy the Lego Star Wars games and will be checking that one out. Also thinking about trying Lego Indiana Jones.

Well most comic-game adaptations are horrible(really). I guess DC has had enough of bad games unlike Marvel who're trying hard to beat them both in movies and games. Looking at DC's recent movie records, except for Nolan's Batman, everything else is in chaos. Marvel has a better history in the movie genre with Iron Man hitting it big recently, and The Incredible Hulk expected to rock as well.

The best gamble for DC would have to be The Dark Knight, which probably should be the movie to beat for others. While getting the JLA movie cancelled/on-hold would most likely bring down DCs popularity, Marvel's hood is expanding as The Avengers production is on full swing alongwith the X-Men Origins project.

It seems DC people are gonna have to get their act togeather quickly if they want to keep their faithfuls. Speeding up on the Flash and Green Lantern movies might help them in this regard, and starting early on the next Batman and Superman movies won't hurt either.

I wouldn't mind a couple of DC game titles if they're not as childish as the recent Marvel games.

Uh huh. I had a lot of fun with that game when I rented it.

I wish they would make a good Supermang or Batmang game. They made a Supermang game for the PS2 that was based on the animated series and it was all right. I'm not sure when the last good Batmang game came out. I had high hopes for the last Supermang game that came out but it sucks apparently.

The only comic book games in recent times that have been good is Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and the Marvel spin off fighting games.

The recent Superman game that released on the 360 was pretty good in terms of controlling Superman and all its craziness. Everything else though was terrible. I believe there's a PC version for it, not too sure.

In general I think that the DC heroes are a lot harder to make games for. Case in point would be Green Lantern. His ring allsfor limitless possibities, how would you go about reproducing that in a game? What about Flash? Completely any objective at his speed would be incredibly difficult, as the 3D Sonic games have taught us, speed is best left to 2D.

Another large contirbution would be the Marvel movies. Marvel releases far more movies than DC does. In my opinion this is because Marvel characters generally aren't your standard super hero. I think that makes it much easier for them to reach mass appeal.

Personally, I'd like some good DC games but I'd rather see them produce some more movies. After all, I like DC more than I like Marvel.

This is what happened the last time they tried to make a DC comic game:

Now go play Ultimate Spiderman like a good little boy ;)

DC comics imo are for the most part awful compared to the Marvel universe.. Most of their heroes are the stereotypical tights wearing do good all super hero.. The only mass media one that has broken this trend has been Batman.. Superman is more of a cult icon if anything that really made comics popular in the publics eye.

Why no DC comic games? Look at Batman Dark Tomorrow.

Be it a movie tie in or anything else, developers can't seem to get the right approach.

I thought Batman has huge potential. But all we get is crap, crap, crap and more crap these days.

I don't know who came up with the idea of making superheroes wear their undies on the outside but i think DC has more of it than Marvel. I like both of them and it's sometimes difficult to choose between the two. Right now, i'm a little bit partial towards DC because i want the Green Lantern and JLA movie to go into production soon.

Anyway, i think Mortal Combat vs DC is not a very creative idea. I've yet to experience a decent comic-game adaptation other than Ultimate Alliance.
