It seems to me that if Microsoft were really serious about PC gaming they'd use their greatest asset. Live arcade is pretty much THE standard for downloadable games and has a host of broad ranging content that would be welcomed by PC gamers. Titles like ticket to ride, castle crashers, Carcassone, poker smash and catan would be well suited to the Pc's audience

After the Fiasco of GFW live it's the least they could do

I don't know which is more sad. The fact that (according to you anyways) live arcade is Microsoft's greatest asset or that you think we PC gamers care. Do you realize how many free games we have on PC (I am not talking about pirated games either)? I don't think any PC gamer is missing this "Live Arcade" that you speak of. And  at you and it being the standard. Yea maybe for consoles, but sure as hell not the standard for PC downloading. Us PC gamers got it better than that.

micro soft is not serious about pc and frankly I don't want their hands on the pc Industry. They made their intenations clear when they were asked about pc gaming market in eourpe. They want to force people to play concoles. we don't need micro soft as far as arcade goes pc has alot of frr aarcade type games

I wasn't trying to make anyone cry

I was just pointing out that XBLA is a fantastic asset and a lot of the games on there do not have a presence on the PC or they do have a presence but lack a lot of the mod-cons such as online and leaderboards.

If Microsoft were really serious abou PC gaming they'd give us a similar serivce.

There is a lot of content on XBLA that (for whatever reason) is not availible anywhere else. Considering Microsofts half-hearted reassurances I feel that making these titles availible to PC gamers (complete with the same functionality) is the least they could do

If you can't see why games like Bomberman Live, Every Extend Extra Extreme, N+, Pac-Man Championship Edition, Catan, Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, Lost Cities, Metal Slug 3, Prince of Persia Classic, Exit , Lumines Live!, Poker Smash, Ikaruga, Rez HD and Castle Crashers would be a great for PC gamers I can't help you

That's good because you didn't make anybody cry.

Again, I still don't see PC gamers giving a rats ass about it. And most PC gamers don't want any part of Microsoft and their screwed up views for the gaming world.

We already have a lot of good games. What you seem to not realize is we already have arcade live, just not in such a direct form. Trust me, you can search the web and find plenty of arcade games to play. Lets not forget that you can still play your old PC games on your current PC for the most part. I have Vista and all my games play with no issues. I am currently having a blast playing Diablo 2 (which released 8 years ago). Let me know when you get plenty of full free games like you do on the PC. Like War Rock or America's Army. Didn't console gamers have to buy America's Army? Hell while I am at it. Don't you have to pay for the arcade games on live? You don't on the PC.

I know there are already some great games I AM ASKING FOR MORE!. I don't feel it's unreasonable given what Microsoft have promised for the GFW initiative and it can't be that difficult given that these games are already availible on XBLA. I know that the PC already has awesome games and I know it already has awesome downloadable games, but that's besides the point

I read it and as I said, not a single valid point and oh, I LIKE Microsoft, but what you "found out" is not a necessity and all I don't like from MS is the GFW Live (LIVE, not GFW in general like most of the so called "gamers" that don't know what GFW is and they think it affects games "negatively" in any way.

Before you write "stupid" things, next time actually think. Even tho I like MS that "it's teh standardz" thing is BS.

"LULZ!!!!!111oneoneone imma XBL fanz wootz meh makez MS knownz for teh thinz that doezntz matter and that are crap because me iz Xbox fanz" to respond in the same way ;).

Microsoft doesn't care about PC gamers. If they did we would have first party titles appear on pc the same time as the 360 versions. Instead we get a shoddy port a couple years later. As for the arcade, it's the devs choice to put it on pc.

Small indie developers dont need LIVE and they don't need M$ to distribute their games to the PC community.

I'm sure that Live Arcade is a pretty great feature of the 360, and while it might offer some unique content, it is by no means the standard for downloadable games, and there's really no need for it to come to the PC. PC users are used to (and usually prefer) getting their content from non-centralized locations. There is no broader range of content offered than that of the entire internet. For users that do prefer getting all thier content from a single source, Steam is pretty much as good as you can get, and I seriously doubt introducing Live Arcade would do anything to change that. This isn't really about Microsoft hate; Live Arcade just wouldn't bring anything significantly new to the table.

i'd have to admit that if I was a hardcore PC gamer, I'd skip out on games like Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Ikaruga, and Soul Calibur, but I'm not a hardcore PC gamer. I own both a PC and 360. Besides, there's Steam, something that has several things to offer. For example: Audiosurf, 2008's PC sleeper hit (you all know it. it's better than most other games you see on Steam)

They can exert a fair amount of control over 360's and Live Arcade, but something similar from MS on the PC is likely to be pirated to high holy hell.

I would welcome Vista with open legs if Microsoft brought Live Arcade to PC, if only because it would mean I and PC gamers the world over could enjoy masterpieces like Symphony of the Night on our computers instead of our crummy consoles (or for many unfortunate PC gamers, not playing it at all), and it would (I would hope) create renewed interest in excellent but largely forgotten PC games series like Worms.

I would love for MS to bring Live Arcade to PC. As for why they don't, well, it's just one more reason to want a 360, isn't it? Microsoft is looking at third place this gen and they know it. They don't need the money as much as the market share. Bringing that kind of service to PC would just hurt their position, which is already going to be weak four years from now without some serious exclusives.

No way do we want them to introduce a LIVE service for PC games.. we buy games and we play for free.. why let MS have a LIVE service on PC where they can then start charging us to play their games, and obviously they'd make their games only able to be played on LIVE. They can keep that for XBox360.. i pay top dollar for my PC games, i dont want to start having to pay extra to play online and then even more for downloadable content which should have been released in the game in the first place.

Be suprise bud by the free games available on the PC platform. I notice even some of the same games licsensed from Newgrounds.com on Live arcade. The main issue though is that some users don't know where to or how to search for this type of content. It is present though on our platform and it's been here for years already.

I only read page 1 of this thread but.... I think most of you misunderstood what TC is saying. I think what he wants is THOSE specific live arcade games on the PC. He thinks that THOSE games on XBLA are worthy of being played on a PC and he believes Microsoft should let the PC gamers try it out.

i agree with the TC. nothign wrong with another service or distribution channel on PC.

but they will have a big fight on their hands. unlike the 360 which has no competition on its platform in this regard...itll have to face the likes of impulse and steam + direct 2 drive and metaboli on PC. to be honest i dont think MS are inclined to duke it out with all of those guys.

but if there up for it then id certainly welcome it.

to be hoenst though i dont think MS give a toss.
