Why don't I ever see any discussions about the Led Lcd monitors? For anyone that hasn't seen one yet, they are heads above the reg Lcd as far as color, brightness, and sharpness goes. I am no tech when it comes to monitors but being an avid gamer, I just want to tell everyone what a huge difference the Led makes. Just trying to help!

So you have an LED monitor your self then? Are they very expensive? Also how much better is the image?

Its funny but we do often forget to mention monitors even though they are one of the most important parts of a gaming PC...

Upgrade a video cards and get a better frame rate

Upgrade your monitor and you will actually get better image quality!

Because LEDs are only used for the dynamic backlight. If you want a top image you should turn the dynamic backlight off which removes most of the advantage of having LEDs. Also contrast ratios are now so absurdly high with dynamic backlighting that it's pointless basing a purchasing decision on them however static contrast ratios haven't changed in years so you might as well get the cheapest panel you can unless you're willing to shell out for a non TN panel.

Some really big threads for 2years ago was about CRT vs. LCD, perhaps it's time to make the jump again LCD vs. LED? Theres a wide span of quality on the LCD screens so there is quite wrong to just do a strait comparison of LCD vs. LED since a lowprice LCD cost a fraction of a good LED. As of LED screens there are only a handfull OEM's that do the screens, untill more does they will stay expencive. When the tech does mature and more affordable i imagine LED will be in more intresting to folks. Yes, the few LED's screens iv'e seen offer good imagequality but they are to expencive for the rather small diffrence to a much cheaper opt. Still most LCD's are a giant leep over the CRT's witch were the norm for only a few years ago.

I have an LG 22" Led Lcd. Payed $229--Didn't think that was bad? I actually came by it on accident. I was looking at Led TV'S and saw how good they looked so I looked up the Led monitors for pc and I was so impressed I went out and got one. The biggest difference was the lighting and the colors were so sharp. In the future I'm sure you will only see Led's. They are e-co friendly and cosume less power!

For an additional $80 to present a better pic quality, in my thinking is definitley worth it! Look at the extreme differences your paying for Gpu's for example.

PSH! Nothing beats a good ol CRT moniter :P

Seriously though, if you get a decent CRT then you get a pretty nice image. I'd like to see these new moniters in action though, have yet to try one out myself.

Got from a whats considered to be a really great CRT/ 21" Triniton to a samsung LCD, the CRT i had i gave away the same week i got my LCD and I never wan't it back. CRT's are out and even the best of them are not up to todays standards even if they offer high resolutions and high hz. The jump from LCD to LED is a minor one, the CRT to LCD was huge. (Have you even seen the size of a CAD CRT Triniton? It's humungus! :P )

At least i've entered the portable computer age. 32 MB of RAM, no network ports, no CD-ROM, and the floppy drive makes creaking noises. Gott love it.
