So I was playing BC2 single player recently and when I used the grenade launcher to go through a wall, instead of a smoke effect, hundreds of gray sheets of what looked like paper appeared and danced around the wall. I dont understand why this is because it never happend before I started the game today.

From what I can tell, the singleplayer of bc2 is pretty buggy. If you're concerned about your videocard, I wouldn't worry about it.

Could be damaged or corrupted files in your installation. Was it particle effects like dust?

Be sure to check the temperatures on your video card and make sure all of your fans are working properly. Geometric artifacts can be a sign of overheating.

Nvidia card? That started to happen to me a few patches ago, nothing had changed except that patch. I was running a 480gtx then.

I had that happen to me once. My card runs cool and I've never had a problem with overheating. Probably just a bug.

which direct X are you using? for me 9 has a lot of artifacts and texture flickering, but 10 looks great with no texture flickering or artifacts, plus runs smoother than dx9...

For some reason, this only happens in single player, it doesnt happen online, and im fairly sure that its not overheating because I dont get graphical artifacts in games which are much more demanding than BC2.

Is it still happening? If it only happened once, I wouldn't worry about it.

YES, it is still happening but only in single player, the online explosions look fine.
