Hi there, I'm looking for a component cableto improve picture quality on HDTV for Wii and was wondering if these Ebay ones will work fine or should I buy the official Nintendo ones which cost 5x more http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-HD-Component-AV-TV-Video-Cable-Nintendo-Wii-/350229761417?pt=UK_VideoGames_VideoGameAccessories_VideoGameAccessories_JN&hash=item518b520d89

It will be perfectly fine. That's a generic one lots of vendors buy and they do work great.

You're more likely to get a defective cable, but I haven't had any bad luck with third party and cheaply manufactured cables. I'm currently using a $2 Monoprice component cable for my Wii and it's great. No difference in image quality to the $35 Nintendo ones. Now, if the Wii was pumping out an HD signal, any potential interference from crappy shielding would be more noticeable, but at a peak of 480p you aren't really going to see much.
