I need help with my SD card. I got my card into the slot but when I search the files it's a .bin type. How do I read these files?

Wait, are you saying that files already exist on the card and that they're in a .bin format?

Are you having any trouble saving data onto the card?

I'm saying that files already exist, SSBB, and they're in a .bin format. Basically your first sentence.

Are you having trouble opening the files in SSBB (rather, does SSBB retain its data off of the SD card correctly)?

If you aren't having a specific issue, there really is no reason to be alarmed.

What he said.

...which is completely unnecessary.

BIN files are generally used for a single purpose such as saving BIOS files, game dumps, hex editors and etc...

There isn't a way you can open a BIN file yourself. You generally need a certain application (e.g. a BIOS flashing program) to properly use the BIN file.

In this case, if the BIN was made for the specific purpose of saving SSBB data then you can open the BIN file through SSBB. It's not something that you can do manually for the sake of viewing what's inside the BIN (such as opening a word document to read what's inside).

My question is: Are you having trouble loading data from the SD card for SSBB?

It's like Wesker said.

.BIN means a binary file. Unlike files with common extensions like .doc, .txt etc, binary files don't follow a specific format. It's just raw data that can only be interpreted by the program that was meant to use those files, in this case SSBB. For any other program the file is meaningless.
