My friend, who is a console only gamer, says he read somewhere, forgot where, that Gearbox is putting the most effort of Aliens: Colonial Marines for the Wii U version, including the best graphics and more content. My friend has admitted that every game he sees being played on pc always looks better than all the current consoles. I know Gearbox will probably integrate the Wii U touchscreen pad for the game however I doubt the graphics will come close to a decent pc. Does anyone know if any of this is true especially with the "better graphics and extra content"?
Also for you pc gamers and pc gamer/ console gamers what are your thoughts on the Wii U? I bought a Wii U and it overall sucks, mostly due to how slow it is. I think games like Mario were more fun when I was young child and I have out grown them. To me they are occasionally fun when you play with other people. I despise the bumper buttons placement on the Wii U gamepad. The touchscreen is kind of annoying, tried with Zombie U. I don't like having to look down and remove my hand from the controller and touch, swipe, or tap things while playing. Yes it slightly adds to the tension of a zombie infested game however I think it adds more annoyance than anything else. The camera Zombie U tracking for detecting clues also seemed terrible (maybe I needed to do some kind of calibration). I literally had to contort my body like i was having a seizure to use that feature. In commercials you see people playing the Wii u with their arms almost straight out in front of them. That does make seeing the gamepad and tv/ monitor at the same time easier, however who really plays games with there arms out like Superman flying? I would also say that Zombie U plays a lot like Condemned however it barelely looks better which is pathetic being that Condemned is 7 years old. I don't expect high end pc graphics from a Wii U I just hoped the graphics will be noticably better than the current consoles, so far that is not true at all. I may keep my Wii U for the occasional two player game.
The Wii U Pro controller is incredibly comfortable, however the joysticks are little short. I am waiting for a driver or something that will allow use of the Pro Contrller to be used on pc. Some type of joystick extender may help the Pro Controller I will keep a look out for one.
The only idea from the Wii u touch screen gamepad I could see being interesting is the extra screen. For example I think in pc games it would be amazing to use a second monitor, smart phone, tablet, etc.. to constantly display something like a large version of your map. In a big rpg or action adventure game usually you frequently want to access your map so why not have a way to make it always visiable.
