I was wondering if anyone could tell me if getting an 8800GTS is a good idea with my current system (will be running crysis, UT3, bioshock,COD4). I will likely upgrade in the future right now I just want to play these pretty games. Processor - Amd64 3500+ 2x512mb dual ram I currently have a 6600GT card.
Uh, depends on the game if it's bad or not. But, you will bottleneck, no doubt about it. But it won't be nearly as bad as these people think. But I personally wouldn't do it, I'd work on getting a new cpu and ram and probably a new motherboard if you want a new CPU.
yeah that CPU will bottleneckit just like mine does to my GTS. Why i got it is because I got if for really cheap but hey at least I can play Crysis with decent frames while still looking pretty good and it's a hell of alot better than my X800GT I had before it:)
