i was thinking about upgrading to a pentium D because my motherboard didn't support core 2 duo but i saw an id for frys today and it was 150bucks for a X2 4600 plus a motherboard so i was wondering if a 4600 is any good for gaming and if it will last at least 2 yearsmastershake575
The x2 4600+ is a good processor, slightly better then a E6300.
It will last quite awhile.Â

alright i guess ill get it because 150 bucks with a mobo is a good priceWere you looking at the bundle with the ECS GeForce6100SM motherboard? If so, by all means that's a great bargain. But I remember they had a AMD 5000+ with the same motherboard bundle for $180 too.GamingMonkeyPCyeah it was that motherboard ill look and see if my frys has a 5000+ for 180 bucks

Well, the e6300 is much more easy to overclock.ECS makes crap motherboards... they are the PCChips of this generation.d-rtyboydoes that mean it won't work well

Well, the e6300 is much more easy to overclock. NOT EVERYONE OVERCLOCKS I really wish people would get that through there heads on this server. Its okay, youre still relatively new here, you still have under 2000 posts. jk jkI just can't see games requiring C.P.U.'s above AMD's x2 3800 or Intel's e6300, as the minuimum spec, for at least one year, so either way the x2 4600 should last you awhile.roulettethedogit should last at least 1.5 years as long as you keep upgrading other parts. btw thats seems like a very good deal.

If your an overclocker then go for the E6300 but if not then the X2 4600 will suffice
