Hey!!

I was just wondering if i bought a gaming mouse, (Razer Deathadder) would i notice a big difference in games?

Right now i have a cordless Logitech VX Revolution so i was just wondering if it would make a big change as i am thinking of getting the Deathadder.

Thanks!!

no, not really. if you're comfortable with your current mouse there is no need to change it.

I bought the DeathAdder and while it doesn't make much of a difference to gaming, it does look really cool. I'd go for it if your old mouse is a bit ordinary.

Wireless mouses over time show decreases in performance. I purchased a logitec wireless mouse about 3 years ago and it still works but it's very choppy during gameplay. I have a USB mouse with extra mouse buttons and it's very nice gaming. You can program the extra buttons for faster response in things such as reloading, switching weapons, zoom, etc. With games like crysis that have tons of different buttons if you didn't have a mouse with extra buttons you'd find your left hand cramped with keys that are very hard to reach during stressful parts of the game. It's worth it to buy a good gaming mouse.

Its up to you if you think changing dpi settings is helpful in game or/and the extra mouse buttons are worth it.

Okay well thanks for all the compliments about the mouse and your opinions. I appreciate it!

Cheers. Feel free to continue the talk still. I think i'll stay with this mouse though now.

Thanks again!

I wouldnt consider the revolutionVX a gaming mouse, more like a luxery like mouse. Apart from having side buttons it doesnt have on the fly dpi switching and supports maximum of 800 dpi.

unless you plan on competing at the professional level, it is generally a pretty trivial investment. but if you're into FPS, i'd say it's worth it to get a gaming grade mouse. ultimately, look for something that feels comfortable, has a high DPI rating, and is made by a reliable manufacturer.

the MX518 by Logitech is the sweetest mouse i've ever owned by the way. it can be bought for around $40 nowadays. some more good ones, i hear, are the G5 model and the Razer mice.

I will never get a cordless mouse unless they discontinue the cord ones

i love gaming mice, they are so comfortable and sturdy and also has the extra buttons to make computer useage much more convienient. I got a MX510 and MX518. I personally hate razer mice and think the two mice i have are the most comfortable ones ive ever used.

In my opinion, throwing away $80+ on a so called "gaming" mouse is quite ridiculous. The same applies to keyboards. The only possible advantage a mouse like that can have is added comfort. I've made the mistake of wasting plently of money on "better" mouses and keyboards, only to find myself later using the mouse/keyboard that originally came with my pc. A gaming mouse won't make anyone suddenly become a better gamer.

IMO having thumb buttons is nice. But the best thing i find about gaming mices is the ability to change dpi speed on the go.

And yes getting a $80 is quite ridiculous.Mine only cost me $20.
