Probably 2 expansions as a full sequels under the same CryEngine 2 with some news features.

Deploy a new engine is very expensive in terms of time and economical resources, so probably Crytek will go to use the CE2 in the next 2-3 years until a change to a new engine, as Epic is doing now with the UE3.

Making an engine for ONE GAME would be so ridiculously money wasting, that even Uwe boll wouldn't do it if he made a game. They'll probably use the cryengine 2 for the seqels. There's no real reason not to. Most computers can't handle it yet.

My 8800GTX and e6600 2.8ghz dual core processor and 4gigs of ram, still only runs it at about 25 - 40 fps on very high. (XP very high not vista very high and yes you can do that, you just need to change the right cvars)

Why not? If they can pull it off I would rather have a episodic sequel for Crysis.

They're minimum time for devoleping a game is 2 years(stated by them) so I'm guessing Crysis 2 with CryEngine 2 and Crysis 3 with CryEngine 3

Crysis is part of a trilogy, so there will be 2 sequels. I'm guessing we will see Crysis 2 in 2010 with an enhanced version of the same engine (Cry Engine 2.5?). For the last part they will probably develop a new engine.

Given that CryEngine 2 is futureproofed for about a year and a half, it stands to reason that the first Crysis sequel will probably be running in CryEngine 2. But by Crysis 3, which may well be six or so years off, it's fair to assume that Crytek will either have a heavily modified and updated version of Cry 2 running, or an entirely new engine all together.

If Crytek really gets into the licensing business, as it intends, the Cry 2 engine will pretty much pay for itself - so It wouldn't surprise me if Crytek is already working on new technology.

But it is a near certainty that Crytek will work on Crysis sequels.
