Will 'FIFA 09' be next-gen on the PC?!?

Yeah sure on gamesradar they show 3 of these things on 360 PC and PS3 that look different but those images are 99.99% fake, they always were/are and always will be fake, prerendered images/vids. From the technical point of view it sounds good but I wouldn't jump to conclusions on the graphics part yet, because it will most likely look not even close to what it is in that "screenshot" but I do hope it will look better than 08 at least the shadows :|.

It's basically turned into an overused buzzword that means "good graphics". Hence why I try avoid using the term.

Its not the Screenshot, its the Fact that the PC Version is not yet again gonna be a PS2 port...

Sorry but if you take that "thing" as a fact that Fifa 09 will not be a ?port? or it will be graphically close to what you see there, then I will take for a fact that the same "screenshots" that were released for Fifa 06 are actually the graphics that Fifa 06 had and that it looks 10 times better than PES 8 and Fifa 08 on PS3/360. Obviously not :roll:.

I said PS2 Port! Ofcourse its gonna be ported. PES 2008 was a port too and it was very damm good. Ps2 doesnt only dumb down the Graphics it also messes up the whole Gameplay aspect, you can see that when you compare pes 08 (pc) to fifa 08 (pc).

Also somewhere i read that EA said that 09 will be next gen on the PC this year, just cant find it anymore. I dont care for the Graphcs i just want my realistic Gameplay with all the Licensed Teams.

Yeah I completely agree with the sentiment here. I just finished playing through UEFA Euro 08 and while the realistic settings and atmosphere were there, the fact that the graphics were no better than FIFA 2005 (which I consider the peak of last-gen FIFA) really detracted from the overall experience.

I too remember reading somewhere that FIFA 09 will finally be a 360 port instead of PS2, I think it was about the time FIFA 08 for PC was announced and everyone began complaining, they apparently were working on the conversion to the better engine but didn't finish in time.

Really hoping that FIFA 09 for PC is a 360 port, hopefully we get some news soon on that.

I hope there are more licenced teams/cups/leagues this year.

All we can do is wait. EA will flood X360 images on preview sites and pretend they are for PC as well. Then, 2 weeks before release, they will announce that it will not be next gen because "our computers cant handle it and they want all users to enjoy the game".

This has been the case with both FIFA and NHL series from EA since 2006. They are either gona keep porting old-gen, or drop the franchise from PC altogether (see NFL). ANd what scares me, is that NHL09 has not yet been confirmed for PC at all.
