hopefully...SS2, Diablo 1-2 and Warcraft would make GoG skyrocket in profits..
doubt it.
those games are still owned by blizzard and are still sold and updated by blizzard
System shock 2 and planescape is what I am hoping for. I'd say give it some time.
As for blizzard games well now that blizzard sells them digital distribution as well as the fact they continue to hover in the top 10 sales list for retail pc every month chances are they will never come to gog.com.
Doesn't really seem like gog's style to have them anyways. I mean I know they are good games and they are old, but I see gog as being a portal for all those games thats that were great but overlooked over the years, like giants: citizen kabuto or MDK. Anyone who has played them, its hard to argue those arn't great games.
I'm just happy I'll be able to play MDK again. I owned it way back, lost the discs but last time I had them I tried to run them on xp and it was a no go.
yes or the fragile alliance, duke nukem, red neck rampage, blood, shadow warrior... dues ex, oh man so many so many.... i have high hopes.. i hope the site launches soon... im getting excited.System shock 2 and planescape is what I am hoping for. I'd say give it some time.

Redneck Rampage is on the website as "coming soon." I've never played it before but the games on GoG are so inexpensive that I'm willing to give almost anything a try.

sweet........ thanks for the info... now the site needs to launch for sure... so many old games i want to play... oh oh oh ohohooho hohohohohohohohohohohohohohohhoooh... and did i mention oh.
Open beta I believe lasts till september 21 or 22. Site should launch very shortly after that. My guess is at least by beginning of october.
Worms 2, I hope they get that game as well. That must have been the only game I played throughout 6th grade. Awesome game as well.
Is any of it Freeware?! I wanna get Grim Fandango. biggest_loser
Nope, everything costs money. The games range from $6-$10 (although most right now are at the $5.99 price point), They also don't have every game every made (obviously) but they're supposedly going to add more all the time. It's an interesting concept and I really hope it succeeds.
Ideally, if the games they do have sell well enough, it might be a good enough incentive for other developers to dust off some of their classic old titles and make them available for download.
Another benefit of GoG is that all of their games will work on both Vista and XP.
Honestly, it's one of those ideas where you kind of wonder, "why didn't anybody think of this before?"

well they prolly did think of it before, but a... didnt want to get into all the licensing agreements... b. have the money to start with... c. didnt have the backing, and d. didnt have the advertising.. i mean look at us, we are perfect advertising agents for this kind of thing lol, we are doing it even right now. maybe in the past this wouldnt have worked out as well..Please Log In to post.
