Nvidea Geforce 8500GT (planning to get BFG Geforce GTS 250 OC 1024mb)

Some powersupply @ 300W (buying an 800W power supply off a friend)

Ya that GTS 250 will help alot, but a 800 watt psu is overkill but if your getting it for a good deal might as well, also you don't want to play Mercs 2 it's bad!

Edit 4 gbs of ram is a great amount.

I agree, i have a 9800gtx+ which is the same as a gts250 and it is able to play all current games at max graphics(aside from crysis of course). And yes, an 800 watt is quite overkill but ya if you can get it cheaper go for it. The processer and ram are fine so you should be good.

Try getting a Radeon 4890 if you can better specs etc on the 4890 than the GTS 250.

I only might get the 800W power supply because a friend of mine who have an insane gaming rig wants to get a better PSU, so he was going to sell me his for cheap :D

Also, How do you know if a powersupply will work with your system?

For only a few bucks more, you can get an HD 4890 card (the ones from HIS are good, and pretty inexpensive), which is tied with the GTX 285 for being the fastest single-gpu card on the market.

usually powersupplies are pretty universal, just keep an eye on the size of it and such to make sure that itll fit in your rig
