yes and no.

If u have a core 2 duo or an amd 940. yes.

if u have a demanding processor like an i7, or an amd 955 then it wont, It could artifact.

which means ull see funny glitches while gaming.

but the HD4850X2 requres a 6-pin PCI-E Connector AND an 8-pin PCI-E connector.

Why the HELL would ATI Make such a decision? Sure its a great video card, but it is worth the extra 100$ everyone's gonna have to spend on a new power-supply?

You can get an adapter. The 8 pin is just two extra grounds, not anymore power

well...where can I get an adapter? and are you SURE that this would work? I mean, I've heard some bad stories with adapters of all sorts.

Get an adapter with 2x molex. That would give you 4+4 wires (8) if you are worried. The problem with adapters arises from putting to many amps through too few wires. I.E. a 8 pin with a single 4pin molex adapter.

Yeah, my friend uses a 6-pin to 8-pin PCIe adapter, as long as your PSU has the amps available it should be fine. (He is running an HD 4850x2 as well).

It will run fine, I am running my rig off a 650 watt and that is overkill with what I have right now.
