I'm getting a macbook pro very soon and was wondering if this will be available on the platform. Thanks.

I'm not getting it for gaming. I was more just curious if it were to come onto the mac, that I might be able to play a bit. Just curious....bobdood99But even if you don't plan on using it just for gaming, why choose a mac?

People get Macs because they think its cool. you know whats cool? A 2,000$ gaming PC makes an Imac look like a calculator.rhodes1O my... I come in here asking a simple question and all I get are people who say mac sucks and junk. And people call us Mac users fanatics.... I'm not even buying this for gaming sakes. I could definitely put $2,000 into something better than gaming pc.

It's a gaming forum, surprised?
Alright, to give you a more fair reply.
It will most likely use DirectX one way or another, and not have an OpenGL version meaning there is no chance in hell it will run on OS X, and you will either need to run windows on your mac.
And as people mentioned, if you just want to play newer releases, do at least get something for your money, and get a properly specced laptop

Theyre right though. There's no way hell be playing any good games on a macbook. Especially Skyrim. I'll probably be getting a gaming rig just for skyrim. Theres no way a macbook can handle something like that. It probably cant play the trailer. It's just like how everyone told me to get a desktop if i was going to play games. But it was too late as I had already bought this laptop. Theyre trying to stop him before it is too late.

He merely asked if Skyrim would be available on MAC, nothing else. If it was available on MAC, a Macbook PRO would run it, you would have to lower some settings though. "There's no way hell be playing any good games on a macbook.": that's nonsense, there are heaps of great games available on MAC. "It probably cant play the trailer": I hope that was a joke? The sheer amount of Mac-hate that spawned from an innocent, honest question is disgusting.
To answer your question, TC, I sincerely doubt it. It's going to run natively on Windows -- if you don't have a 360 or a PS3, I would recommend bootcamping your Mac if you want to play Skyrim. Games are starting to come out for the Mac more and more these days, but it'll be a long time (if ever) that a lot of games come out for the Mac, near the number of games that come out for the PC.

I agree. One thing is to suggest a PC instead of a MAC for gaming, but another is to just outright insult the poster saying he got ripped off etc etc etc
Great idea, might struggle anyway though...

Welcome to the PC and Mac Games forum, where helpfulness comes second to taking every possible opportunity to state your own opinion .
Anyway, if you run bootcamp you should have no problem running Skyrim, though I'm not sure at what detail settings. An official Mac version would be unlikely.
Probably not on OSX as other have stated but if you want to install windows than you can probably run it, albeit if you don't mind lowest settings and 15fps.
