Well what if they take everything that made Starcraft and made it worse?
You would certainly hope so. It was similar to what a Halo 3 developer said in an interview. "Halo 2 is the bar we've set. We want Halo 3 to atleast be as good as Halo 2". I would certainly hope something was improved in a sequel that will make it better than the predecessor.
Well they aren't straying from the Starcraft formula. Some might call it not very innovative or new. I however, am glad that they seem to be taking the approach of "if it isn't broke, don't fix it". I'm highly looking forward to Starcraft 2 and it's long overdue. Hopefully, it will live up to my expectations.
I sure hope so. Blizzard is known for their perfectionist attitude, so I think they'll be able to release a sequel better than one of the, if not the, best games ever made.
It WILL be a better game but for it's time, I would say no. I think it will do well but who knows at this point. Blizzard seems to be putting a LOT of money into it, though. They know that a solid game will earn them huge earnings (look at WoW).
it is really hard to say now if it will be better or not
but the Command & Conquer look-a-like aspect REALLY, REALLY turn me off
specialy all the counter units and needing specific units for such and such attacks and all ... that pisses me off so much, my guess is that making such specific combats command will force attacks to take longer and have a longer preparation so i don't think they will make it the way they want to have some 15~20 min action-full games !
(it might now be a bad game, but on that aspect they won't respect what they announced to the players)
they managed to do it with warcraft 3, so i dont see why they wont with starcraft 2. they have even better technology available to them now than they did when they made warcraft 3 so im confident that they will.

I would imagine so. They can do more now with graphics and whatnot that can help enhance the story and such. Its hard to beat the original and I dont think anyone should really compare it to the original because that game was special and this is merely a sequel that will be enhanced obviousely.
