Do any of you think super street fighter IV will go to the pc? The producers said the wanted it mainly for the ps3 and xbox 360, but SFIV was on the pc. Do you guys think it will be on the PC?

if it worked, perhaps - but how does 6 extra months prevent piracy? It was a whole 6 month difference to prevent piracy for SF IV, do you think they'll do the same thing again?

well... "decently" wouldn't be what mega corporations like Capcom expected, i'll wager. iirc, despite the fact that Capcom has vastly improved the port quality for the pc, its last few titles haven't been selling especially well when in comparison to the figures on consoles. i wouldn't be too happy if i were one of Capcom's directors....
No way could capcom expect a fighting game to sell anything better than "decent" on PC.well... That doesn't make any sense, if capcom thinks SFIV sold decently, theres no reason not to bring the next one. If "decent" wasn't good enough, they probably wouldn't have bothered with SVIV in the first place.they overestimated the spending power of the pc crowd, and it shows after the sales figures of DMC4, RE5 and SF4 on pc were all dwarfed by the console figures. again, feel free to correct me if you can prove me wrong.
What are the sales figures of DMC4, RE5, and SF4? And I don't think there is any surprised any of those games sold better on console, they are console franchises. There is no market for fighting games on PC. I just don't think capcom was expecting much, and I don't think it cost them much to put it on pc. Porting something from 360 to PC is not that big a deal.they overestimated the spending power of the pc crowd, and it shows after the sales figures of DMC4, RE5 and SF4 on pc were all dwarfed by the console figures. again, feel free to correct me if you can prove me wrong.

as is the case with WoW, operation costs are often greatly underestimated by consumers.... "not that of a big deal" may amount to millions of dollars, and remember this is no time for unjustified expenses.
by the way, all three titles sold between 2 to 5 million copies so far.
This is just a DLC, they'd be stupid to sell it as an expansion, because it's not. Imo it will be available on PC day one.
I seriously doubt porting a 360 game to PC is in the millions. Especially if the PC is considered from the start of development as a release.as is the case with WoW, operation costs are often greatly underestimated by consumers.... i'm sure it's not free to manufacture, package, ship, promote and sign contracts with DD sites - on top of the development costs, that is.
They never overestimated anything, it's just that DMC 3 sold really well for such a game on PC, and DMC 4 didn't live up to those expectations, they didn't expect much to begin with, SF 4 sold decently and RE 5 is just a bad game that didn't catch the eyes of many, I doubt they expected a decent amount of sales with it. Also porting them is less than 200K $, even lower, because they developed them on those dev tools that they use (don't remember the name, used for all their recent games) and they are designed on PC, not on specific XBox hardware. They already released DLC on PC, I have no doubt they will release this DLC with just a few characters, I even expect them to sell each character or a pack.they overestimated the spending power of the pc crowd, and it shows after the sales figures of DMC4, RE5 and SF4 on pc were all dwarfed by the console figures. again, feel free to correct me if you can prove me wrong.

you expect a mega corporation to not expect great yields from its investment? surely you're jesting....
in anycase, it's not like i don't want SSF4 to come to pc. we'll see.
It's not always about the instant money scenario. There is no room for fighters on the pc? Why not try and create one?you expect a mega corporation to not expect great yields from its investment? surely you're jesting....

instant money is only the project baseline every time the big boys in the industry put something out. they're not gonna sit around and let the number brew over the years.
my point being, it may appear to the devs/publishers that porting console centric titles to pc probably isn't gonna generate enough revenue to justify their efforts, no matter how good the porting quality is. and what that leads to is a sad no-brainer....
true, I'm just putting up a more optimistic view to why Capcom continues to do so. It may also be possible that they use the pc version to boost sales of the console versions six months after release. I guess only time will tell :Pinstant money is only the project baseline every time the big boys in the industry put something out. they're not gonna sit around and let the number brew over the years.
