Will TF2 ever be in a normal box instead of The Orange Box?

I got the Orange Box for the 360 and I loved it. Too bad TF2 sucks on Xboxlive...

I want it for the PC, but sadly I already have the other four games that came with the Orange Box and I just want TF2 for the PC. I don't want to pay another $60-$50 for the same game with better controls, so I might as well wait for a normal boxed version of TF2.

But will it ever come out? And is it worth it?

You can buy it on steam for 30 bucks, or less if it happens to be on sale.

As far as worth it, thats up to you. I preordered the OB for $45 on steam and have been playing TF2 tons and show no signs of stopping, and would have gladly shelled out even $40 or $50 for it myself. Valve has been doing a pretty good job patching, they just need to release a new map or two. The only thing I don't like about the game is that there are only 6 maps (4 are really good and 2 are just good) and that there aren't any stellar custom maps, I can name 4-5 that are good, but none are really great.

I cant imagine people passing up on Team Fortress 2 or missing out on it. I'm in the same boat as you though more maps will be great.

ask mommy nicely to use her credit card.

it's 2008....people still pay for things with cash? lol. reminds me of that visa commercial where everything stops when someone tries to use cash.

Yeah, why not just buy it on Steam? I used my parents' credit card when i bought HL2 back in 2004 and so far, they said no money has been stolen from them, so I know Valve didn't rob me. Using steam is a hella safer option than most other online game services IMO.

and you don't have to use a credit card, theres always the option of paypal if you just have a bank account or (depending on age) ask your parents if you can use yours, I know when I wasn't 18 and didn't have my own money from a job or a credit card I just gave my parents money and I used theirs for games like DAoC.

I believe you can gift the ones you already have away to a friend. The best thing to do when you dont have access to a credit card(my case used to be my mom was uptight about her security on her card) is to the store and buy one of those Visa giftcards that you can use everywhere. It is basically a debit card.

I don't understand why you would buy it on the 360 in the first place, as you seem to already know the PC version is better? Anyways you've really only got a couple of options. Buy the orange box again or buy the individual game off of Steam. You've already mentinoed that you don't want to do either.... However I'm wondering why you wouldn't want to use a credit card? It doesn't even necessarly have to be a credit card, as debit cards will also work. I'm going to assume you've used your debit card to buy things in the past, which is the exact same thing here.

Beyond those two options you're really out of luck. I wouldn't be surprised if someday Valve decided to sell steam gift cards in retail stores, in fact I'd say it's very likely to happen someday. However that day is probably at least a year, most likely 2+yrs away from being a reality. The last piece of advice, why not take the 360 version of the orange box into a EB Games and trade it in? Since it's a newer game they might give up to $20 or so for it, which would make things easier on your pocket and you could pay with cash.

I wanted to get the PC version, but they were sold out. I would've waited, but I grew sort of impatient. Call me a dumb arse, but I get a little jumpy with hyped games on the shelves.

You could ask a friend to buy a copy of tf2 for you and then ask him to gift it to your account.
