I know that person personally. He owns the VX 200, and even posted pics. he used to own a Kuro too, so this means a lot. The Vx300 will be even better. Can't wait!A person in that thread said the 200 makes the kuro pale in comparison.

If this is true, then I'mma have to hold off buying a new monitor/TV so I can buy one of those 42" beauties :D
Why is there so little talk about the VX200? I've seen one in dubai and it cost nearly $100K
but still. We have stereophile and what hifi that reveiws $100K stereos and $6 million home cinemas, so how come I can't find any reviews of the VX200???
There was 1 on AVF, but I'm wondering why CNET, Flatpanels, HDTVReveiwUK etc blatantly ignore this TV when it comes to handing out their TV of the year award or "best picture of the year" etc..
if a VX200 costs £42 000 I can only imagine how good it looks. Sure its 85-103" but the picture quality is bound to be ~ VT30 level ?
No doubt there are displays better than the Kuro, they're just in the form of a concept display or custom/corporate display. Hence the astronomical prices. $50,000+ (Panasonic VX200) is not exactly realistic, or sensible considering better displays will be out on the consumer market in a couple of years. Anyways, lets wait to see the price and performance of these.
In that case look at E3 from any year past 2009. Sony, LG, Samsung and Sharp have OLED tvs 40+ inches that no doubt blow Kuros off the water. And doesn't Sharp have an 80+ inch 16KHD OLED TV prototype? due to be released in 2020 or so..No doubt there are displays better than the Kuro, they're just in the form of a concept display or custom/corporate display. Oh, and for that much money, I'd expect the TV to wipe my a** and serve me a 3 course meal, not in that order though.

I'm sorry it was 8KHD (Super Hi vision) http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/05/sharpshv85inch.jpg7680 x 4320p = 16 times the resolution of FULL HD.

Oh and TC... Panasonic has a higher than highest high end TV too... Better than the VX200..
I don't remember the model name but its a FRICKEN 150" 4096x2160p (four times the resolution of HD!) plasma TV...
resolution may not be everything, but this TV costs $500,000 or something RIDICULOUS, I could only image the black level, contrast ratio, colour accuracy etc..
[QUOTE="Mozelleple112"][QUOTE="planbfreak4eva"] you serious?planbfreak4evaUhhh yes he's serious. The Kuro KRP 500-A is better than a VT30/D8000 in every way possible regarding 2D performance. well if that is true. i still prefer led lcd over plasma..my parents got 1 of those kuro tvs 2 years back and also have a panasonic 2 year old aswell. and for me the kuro i just dont see the big deal about it...i had a sony tv before now have a samsung ue46c9000 and i would say imo that is the best tv with maybe one of those new panasonic models could come close together....
The Samsung C and D series LEDs have GREAT pictures, no doubt. However, they still can't touch a Kuro, or any decent plasma in terms of color accuracy and overall picture quality. Anybody who says otherwise just doesn't know what real life looks like. Plasmas do a better job of reproducing lifelike images.

well i still dont beleive a 2 year old tv is better...maybe in some aspects but not overall... i watched lincoln lawyer on the kuro tv in easter and on my samsung. and guess what. it looked better on samsung...so i dont understand this great thing about kuro..all i know it.... led lcd > lcd > plasma[QUOTE="hartsickdiscipl"][QUOTE="planbfreak4eva"] well if that is true. i still prefer led lcd over plasma..my parents got 1 of those kuro tvs 2 years back and also have a panasonic 2 year old aswell. and for me the kuro i just dont see the big deal about it...i had a sony tv before now have a samsung ue46c9000 and i would say imo that is the best tv with maybe one of those new panasonic models could come close together....planbfreak4eva

This is the truth. People just don't know what a good picture is these days. They think that if it's bright and in your face, it must be good. A nice plasma has a better picture than a current LED.. end of story.

Thats so overkill. There is literally nothing out there to support that kind of res, it will take years until they have discs with enough space for movies with that res.
Heck, 4K is far from being widespread today, and probably won't for another 3-5 years.
Ouch. I don't care how good the picture is I don't see spending that much $$ on a flat panel. I'm sure it is a very nice looking set, but I'll keep my tv buying to under 3000. Wow, I just can't believe that someone would purchase a tv at that extended price! Well, I guess if you have the money why not? I'm the latter, and will not be able to fork out such funds. No doubt there are displays better than the Kuro, they're just in the form of a concept display or custom/corporate display. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that. I have a Kuro and while it easily bests any current flat panel.. it's no match next to my Sony 34XBR960 (both pro calibrated). Don't bother mentioning resolution, since that's not even close to what makes a picture good. The critical factors are black levels, color accuracy, depth, gamma, warmth, etc and resolution and overall sharpness falls below those. The Sony, while not destroys, owns the Kuro in these critical areas.
I've put several hundred hours on a Pio 500M, Samsung B8500, and Panny VT25 in a dark room to know better. All fantastic displays but.. sorry, isn't in the same league (yet) as the little trinitron from Sony.
edit --> Frankly.. I don't think there ever will be a home consumer (not professional) display to challenge the 34XBR960 for SHEER 2D DEPTH, which is extremely important. Black levels may (or may not) be matched in the next decade but I have my doubts. But for overall depth in a 2D picture I just don't see it happening. It's only until you get into the gimmick 3D tricks that current tvs have that give the illusion of having more depth. But it's just not natural. Sorry.
