So would i be able to play high end (i think) games such as Company Of Heroes well enough?

how will it be for future gaming? (not high end games i.e Crysis 2 or something but rather WoW The Raith of the Litch king)

Don't listen to every wiseguy around here. The answer is YES ! I don't know what a 9600M is...but I'm going to buy a 9600 GT for my PC and it will run any game at 1280x1024 high detail. Future games....maybe at medium detail...but the idea is you don't need more than that. The newest 260/280 are for people who through money out the window... Any GF9 cards are the perfect choice for "modern" PCs.

9600M is a lot slower than GT. It's a notebook card.

9600M is the Laptop version of the 9600 series but due to limited spacing inside a laptop the lack of cooling can be a problem and laptop gpus are never as powerfull as there desktop counterparts.

As for the 9600M GT its not the best gaming graphics card available in a laptop by a long shot, in fact the medium settings and medium resolution previously mentioned does sound spot on.

Here is a list of Laptop GPUS I found, not sure how old it is but it does list some of the top cards so probably not too old, the 9600M GT ranks 35th and for the sort of games you want in the future I reckon you will need something in the top 10 if not the top .

EDIT: Just noticed you only said 9600M which I cant find on the list, so not sure if its normal, GS or GT but the GS version ranks 45th.

Have fun

Im afriad it will not. The poblem with this rig is that there is a strong ghost infection. Ive seen this before it what we professionals call a rank 65 cat. 5 ghost tornado. Its strongly recomended that you get out of your house ASAP. Or next thing you know you will be turning on the tv and a ghost will have hit the world trade center.

The 9600M GT is slightly better than the 8600M GT.

You should be able to play most recent games on high settings at 1280x800. The screen resolution of 1920x1200 though is going to be too much for gaming.

You should have no problems with Company of Heroes.

Its a good midrange laptop gpu.

You should be able to play Crysis on High at 1024x768 at around 30fps actually. But man, that monitor resolution is overkill for your card.

1. I know laptop GPUs are much slower that normal ones... And let's be serious: laptops are not for gaming !!

2. Kurgan is right. I still think it's not a bad choice... but since I don't know anything about laptops just stick to the charts in that link and buy a laptop with a better one . It seems the performance doesn't rank the same way as with desktop models.

That 9600M GT has the same specs as my 6600GT ...+DX10:|. Damn I'm stunned, the desktop 9600GTs are such great cards. Especially the OC/Ultra models from some manufacturers ...

How has the 9600GT the same specs as a 6600GT? The 9600 slaughters the latter.
