CPU support from the Asus website says this: Support AMD® Socket AM2 Athlon 64 X2 / Athlon 64 FX / Athlon 64/ Sempron Yep, it's supported! :)

Yes its an AM2 motherboard. btw SLI mode is only 8x

im not bothered about sli so thats ok. Plus i never overclock
