Without knowing the power requirements, I would say that it probably will power a 8600GTS

Well, first of all, I don't have your PSU, nor a GTS, however, the specs on your PSU seem that it would be able to run. It has enough power on the 12V rails, enough wattage. What IS up for grabs is the quality of your PSU, and THAT is something I doubt.

The x1600Pro isn't really a power hog though. Still, the 8600GTS IS a mid-range card, I doubt the Amperage on the 12V rail would exceed 22A

first off, please keep the thread creating to a small, since it is obviously eating up a lot of bandwith for the GS servers.

Second, DO not trust this PSU, you may or may not have gotten a lemon, but Dynapower is something to stay away from.

I hate to repeate myself, but the only companys with good PSUs are:

Antec, Fortron, OCZ, Corsair, Silverstone, Seasonic, Enermax, Ultra Pro X, PC Power And Cooling (servers).  There might be others, but those companys I listed, are the ones that are mostly used and trusted.

The reason, is that Thermaltake PSU's have an off and On reviews. Johnny did a good review, but looks are not everything. I mean, I have had plenty of Thermaltakes die on me, and so have others. I know of a story of a kid on NCIX who bought the Thermaltake toughpower 420w PSU, and it died in the first month, taking most of his PC with it, and the RMA service would not take it back.

I will leave out thermaltake PSU's until I can gather more info on them.

And what you said is not true, as seasonic, Fortron, and Silverstone to this day, still have the best efficiency, as they outlive the Thermaltake PSU's.   Actually, I think Seasonic is considered the best in terms of efficiency.
