It can certainly "run" Crysis. What is considered acceptable is dependant on the user. Lets just say, you wont be running at even medium. Also, do you mean 8500 GT or 8400 GS?

none, first off unless you have more than 2 gigs of RAM only use Vista 32bit, 64bit has more issues and compatibility issues with games and programs so it's utterly pointless if you only have 2 gigs of RAM, secondly, get at LEAST a 8600GT and even that is a 'budget' card and you'll be looking to pay crysis at low and just playable FPS... so i would STRONGLY recommend getting some variance of an 8800GT which go for around £150-200 ($250 i think). So if you do that, the only thing that will bind you is your processor but thats not a huge problem, so with an 8800GT and the other specs you could be looking to run crysis on medium at 30fps at 1280 res.

haha fair enough, well in that case if you do just use vista 32 bit and get an 8600gt, which is really the minimum of what you should get, i'd say you'd be able to run crysis low-medium at 1280x1024 at a good 20-30 fps.

an extra £40 can get you the new 8800GT 256mb version and as long as you play in meduim res you will be fine playing crysis on med settings.
