My desktop/Laptop just updated its Nvidia drivers. Nvidia said it would help to play games like Alan Wake, Operation Racoon city, & so on.

Now I was just curious, will these updates only help newer games or will these updates also help older games? 2 or 3 updates ago I played Borderlands on medium settings, does this mean I can now play Borderlands on High settings & not see any frame drops? I'm currently playing Alan Wake so I haven't tried it.

Thanx a lot guys!!!

In my experience the driver updates rarely give such a boost to frame rate that I can take a game from medium to high especially on older games. Drivers genrally improve newer games, usually whatever games were released in the couple weeks prior to the driver. Basically I would say that while what you're asking is possible it is unlikely.
