I know people will only have the console gears to base this off but are these games similar? Ive never played gears and don't really know that much about it but they look similar from screenshots ive seen. Gears is in 3rd person only though correct?
im defintly anticipating both games, but by the time their out and depending how much money i have i'll for sure be getting gears of war first
ive only got a small taste of gears of wars playing it at a buddys house on his 360 a couple times, and from that taste of it, i relaly needed to get it, especially for PC
but that doesnt mean i wont pick up UT3 when i have the extra cash
Gears and the UT series play COMPLETELY differently...
Gears is very unique the way it uses the third person. Its not a standered shooter. UT3 is a fast paised online shooter. UTwas one of the first of its kind.
I'll be getting UT3 because i honostly couldnt even imajon plyaing Gears on a keyboard xD. Its controls are very much made for the 360 controller
I choose UT3!....I choose it because the fast-pace, and because its supposedly linked online with other system players, all out system crossing bash. Fast paced, great graphics, awesome game...Go ut3!
srsly? of course im getting UT3, gears of war is just some overrated console game, already beat it on 360 and didnt like it that much. unreal tournament series is legendary.
i'm excited about gears. it's the only game on consoles (besides fight night 3) that seems to be worth getting. but ut3 is a must and comes from a long line of great shooters. i think ut2004 is one of the best games of all time (perhaps top 10, on my list) and certainly the best multiplayer shooter, so i'm not going to miss out on what's officially the third release (2004 being the 2nd, i guess). though i'll probably wait half a year or so before getting it, cuz i'd need to upgrade my pc before i can play it in all its glory.
I'll go for Gears of War because i prefer single player games. dbowman
Agreed. Unfortunately, I've already played through Gears on with a buddy. Granted, there's extra content, but I want UT3 more. Doesn't matter, I'll be getting them both.
ive played gears several times at friends' houses and i was never impressed. it didnt provide any feeling of remote excitement for me. UT3 all the way!

Your specs will work fine for UT3 at Mid-Level. I have an ATI X1600 and I'm getting 45fps at 1024x768. And to be honest, it looks and runs amazing at Medium settings.

Well im probably not getting either right when they come out because im tight on money with crysis, cod4, assassins creed and whatever, but in the future ill get gears. Im not too into the UT thing cus I suck at multiplayer FPS, the demo was cool and looked good. I might get UT3 if the SP rocks.
