will you delay purchasing skyrim?

hi all,

just wondering if you are gonna delay purchasing skyrim because of the game not full featured for direct x 11?

seems a lot of companies now are playing the following trick on consumers.

releasing their games with only dx 9 or dx 10 support and then a little while later they release a direct x 11 package to renew interests and sales for new potential buyers. now they do offer the direct x 11 upgrade for free mind you but i am wondering if this is not just some cheap sales tactic to being with.. just like some games gte some dlc soon after release to " enhance" the story or give you more gimmick items... i see a sad trend developping right now with direct x 11 and it looks like skyrim may be in the " we ll give fans a direct x 11 package later" situation.

that being said and knowing this..would that stall you from buying the game when it comes out?

I am done pre-ordering games. I liked oblivion but did not love it. I am interested in this game but i will wait for reviews both critics and user before I make my decision to buy.

It's a day 1 buy for me.

I'm going to wait for some kind of sale, 50€ for a Bethesda game is just too much, especially considering the more they show about Skyrim the more it seems unimpressive.

depending on how difficult my classes are next semester, maybe. But as of now i intend to preorder

I buy so few games nowadays.

If it's a letdown like Oblivion, so be it. Mods will come along and fix the mistakes.

Waiting till it goes for around $30 retail or digital. Sorry but the past 2 Bethesda games have been far too buggy, in my experience, to warrent a day one purchase or full price.

Wait what? A DX11 patch wouldn't actually do anything if the game wasn't made in DX11; at most you'll see some performance increase due to DX11 being much more optimized than 10 or 9.

i might delay just till im on winter break. same goes with bf3

Ill delay buying it just because its on consoles, just like ill be waiting for reviews and opinions on BF3. I dont expect anything new from a console game and from what I have seen of Skyrim it just looks like another Oblivion with more snow and different enemies to button mash.

I think I'm seeing a trend here.

"Will you get this Bethesda game?"

"Day 1 buy for me."

A few years after the hype for the game settles down:

"Is this Bethesda game any good?"

"No, it's terrible. Ruined the franchise. Ruined forever. Don't buy. Never buy!"

And the cycle repeats itself.

from what i understood, it seems that some part of direct x will be implemented in the game but how much, i am not sure...but tessalation makes a huge difference graphic wise..i seem to recall that tessalation is not part of the game when it comes out... it makes a huge difference in the environments looks but when will it be done if it is not in the game and if done at all....

i would be majorly upset to buy the game and play some of it just only to see a gamechanger not even a few months after.

a few big name games have come out lately that did this and i dont think it is fair to the buyers...if the final product is not ready then they should wait until it is really done before releasing it..not release some half baked product...

way too many games to play, so it won't be day one.

im only just thinking about buying oblivion now. :D

but elder scrolls games have a great community so waiting is actually better.

Im buying it day one, actually my wife is getting me the Collectors edition for christmas so Ill have to wait a little bit. Im fully aware I will be paying extra to be a bug tester :x but at least I can attempt to fix things myself on my pc.

Had 21 games to pre order this was one of the first ive pre order this year..Looking forward to playin skyrim..Now the question is will you delay buying this if diablo 3 hits 11 11 11 or buy both rofl..Ive got both pre ordered already...Now its just going to wait an see if both have a ce..An how good the ce is going to be also whats in it..

Never ever ever ever buy Bethesda game day one. I wait a month or so for the mods to roll in! :D

I am beyond hyped for this game but I will hold off for different reasons: back in school full time, $60 price tag, already have games from last year I haven't even started..

I'm getting it when it's on a Steam sale for $8.50 with all its 'expansion' DLC and the horse armor.

I have a 50+ game backlog, and not much drive to get new stuff.

Still gotta finish Morrowind.
