Will you get banned by using addachievement command cheat?

Me and my friend are having a debate. He has told me to use this if I want easy gamerscore but I said that is counted as cheating and can get your gamerscore reset. He also didn't buy the Fallout 3 DLC but he has the achievements for it.Surely Mircosoft will ban him for that?

I need a few more achievements on Falout 3 so this sounds useful since my saved games got wiped on the last update.

Yeah, if you're caught, they'll reset your gamerscore and label you as a cheater.

I did it 6 months ago and nothing ever happened about it.

No you won't be get banned. There is nothing wrong with enhancing the game.

The developers put that glitch in on purpose....would be a bit wrong for them to penalise you for it.

I was wondering this myself... Not the achievement codes, but codes in general? Like item codes/unlock codes/teleport codes? Do those get you banned? Because I want to buy the PC Version of Fallout for the cheats and for the mods... I remember having a lot of fun with Oblivion on PC as far as codes and mods went...

Also do mods get you banned like weapon mods or character mods or NUDE MODS (not that I would use them >.>)

It is a single player only game so mods/cheats etc will not get you banned. MS would only do something if you altered the game files to give you an unfair advantage online. The addachievement code is built into the game is is accessible by simply pressing a button to bring up the console so I wouldn't call it a hack either.

I hate that piece of s*** software!!! It seemed I had to install it for GTA4 (or maybe it was just that other rockstar societies thing which is equally bad). Now when I start Fallout 3 it autosigns me in. I already use xfire. I don't care about achievements. Please don't force me to interact with your stupid second rate software Microsoft. Logging out everytime I open a game is such a pain in the ass.

I didn't explore the thing too much, but I couldn't find an option to just shut it down permanently. Is this possible, because if so I would do it.

It's not hacking.

Not a console user here, but knowing a bit about Oblivion/Fallout 3's internal console commands I can say unless your save games are checked there won't be any consequences.

If they ARE checked, you'll probably be in trouble if anyone cares to check (and to take action).
