Will you get Battlefield 3 with Preorder Bonus.

Battlefield 3 will have several Pre-order choices which will provide very different bonuses.

The normal bonus for Pre-orders appears to have some extra maps from BF2 (with classic weapons and vehicles which will appear in these maps) and more achievement/rewards among other things. http://www.battlefield.com/uk/battlefield3/pc-download

There is also a Limited Edition Physical Warfare pack which is exclusively offered only as a physical copy from select retailers (GAME and Gamestation in UK, not sure about US). The Physical Warfare pack seems to have caused an outrage among some people and there are talks about boycotting BF3 unless they modify it so the exclusive weapons are available for everyone. What are your thoughts on this and which version are you going to buy/not buy?

Yeah its messed up they're doing this, but anyone who really wants those are gonna preorder the game. Eventually, DICE patches everything in anyway.

The only thing I don't like about it is the flash grenade (I think thats one of the items.) I f'ing hate flash grenades and think its a stupid/cheap tactic. With some games even if you look away you still get affected (I can understand the noise part, but not the flash part.)

I know that. I justed stated I don't like them and to give them only to people who buy it/preorder it is a really stupid idea. And they claimed it would have no real advantage. Its the 2nd most hated thing about today's FPSes next to CoD/Halo gameplay.

But according to some they believe this is merely a "timed exclusive" and the items will be availabe weeks or months down the track. And I can't see any of those causing a real imbalance. Good thing DICE doesn't have their heads up their arse. Can't see why anyone would be ticked by this unless it was a $15 DLC. I predict $5 or less.

I'd love to pick up B3 pre-order day 1, but it sounds like it may not be on Steam. So, I can wait for a sale on retail later down the road.

I don't think it will be a timed-exclusive. That's why people are boycotting EA and DICE. This is exclusive to pre-orders, once and forever. That's why this has become a huge deal. I don't agree with EA's decision to do this, but I have my copy pre-ordered and pre-ordered way before this become major news. I've purchased countless games where I still don't have DLC items till this day. It doesn't bother me so much. People are looking to play BF3 for a long time might as well pre-order it. I'm pretty sure BF3 fans will want this day one anyways.

I want to get the physical warfare pack but since only select stores will sell it and chances are it won't be the usual, realiable, cheaper and all around better store I buy physical copies of games from, I will just get the back to karkand/limited edition.

I'm kinda hesitant in getting BF3 now... ugh I hate Origin and it's forced to be Origin, I might skip it till EA stops being a d!ck and release BF3 on Steam as well. I hate all these digital download competitions, I just wanna download from 1 source, not a bajillion...trastamad03

I don't see why people care so much. Its only a few items that WON'T imbalance the game and that no one will use once they reach a certain level and get better guns and equipment anyway and the maps will be available after launch to everyone. You guys are making it sound like the pre order bonus is a completely different game

I already preordered on D2D as soon as it became available... if the Physical Warfare pack is just a retail thing, then no I won't be getting that. There's no in-game item that's worth it for me to cancel my $45 BF3 preorder and get a retail copy for $59.99 + tax :0

oh wow thats some greedy stuff by dice. i didn't know this.

the only reason i'm not preordering the game. is because i want to see if they address the team stacking issues that also plauge bc2. where the motto is switch teams or servers, until your on the stacked team pwning the base...lmao, which every server in conquest mode seems to be...

they either need a better autobalance or a shuffle after matches, like some mods had in bf2..... if not i won't bother buying the game. other then that though bc2 is amazingly balanced and a great multiplayer. so now i have to see how they handle team stacking as well as if the game is gonna be as balanced as bc2. which was superbly balanced. we shall see what happens.

I am going to pre-order this game right away!
