By the sounds of things you created a new partition so you have a dual boot system. To remove the xp partition (once you have saved all valuable data) right click 'My Computer' -> Click 'Manage' -> Click 'Disk management' on the left -> Right click the partition with XP installed onto it -> Choose 'delete'

Please make sure you delete the correct partition. A google of removing one OS from a dual boot system may help you more.

Hope that helps

There are 2 ways of doing this. 1. Reformat the section of your hard drive that houses XP, if you wish to remove XP and everything else in that partitioned are of your hard drive. IF you wish to keep XP, but only want to boot into Win 7, you can do this (I'm going from memory, it's been a while since I dual booted, but I think this is right). a) start your computer in Win 7 b) Click on the start button c) in the area just above the start button, you'll see a magnifying glass, in that area type in "msconfig" (without the quotes) and press enter d) You should see a new window appear called the System Confiuration, in that window click on the Boot tab at the top e) You should see both XP and Win 7 listed as installed operating systems. Pick the one you want to start upon startup and click the Set as default button. I believe that should start you every time into Win 7 without having to pick which OS you want to boot into. It's been a while, but if memory serves me right, that is the way to do it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong or missed a step.

Have a look at this image I made, it may help. Does your screen look anything like this and have anything like the annotations say?

Larger version of image can be found here: http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/5193/dualboot.jpg

Hope that helps

Well Disk 0 must be partitioned for you to have a dual boot. If nothing is shown where the red area is on my screenshot (except the first partition) than I have no idea, sorry
