My motherboard doesn't seem to have chipset drivers for windows 7, is the vista driver guaranteed to work on windows7 as well?

Most Vista drivers will work, if it doesn't there is a compatibility mode and it will ask you when was the last time the driver worked and you select Windows Vista and then it should install it.

Is the compatibility mode a part of windows 7? So what happens if I select it, like windows7 starts to work like vista?

Edit: nevermind, I get it now.

Most Vista drivers should work on Windows 7. You may have to look through the driver CD if you have it. I bought a new rig last month, and none of the drivers would install because they didn't recognized windows 7. I forced install Vista drivers, and almost all of them worked without problems.

As others said, Vista drivers will work, same driver base. Run them in compatability mode.
