So has anyone tried Windows 7? I am running it right now and it seems like it's a mix of Vista and Apple. The major difference I've noticed is that I didn't need to install my motherboard drivers and it ran better than Vista. The Apple like menu on the bottom is also really cool.zaku101did you notice it was also much faster, and had a few more interesting features. They also squeezed some touch screen stuff in there too. It really is basically Vista2: this time we didn't screw things up!

It's basically what Vista should have been, it also uses less Ram but has better performance.

I read you can only download it if you have Service Pack 1. I have the Service Pack 2 beta. Would I have to get one again in order to download it? bedram793You don't need Vista at all to download it, only to upgrade. Since sp2 is beta, im guessing you won't be able to upgrade from sp2 only sp1.
I tried installing Service Pack 1 back and it says it's already downloaded, so I guess it should work with my Service Pack 2 beta. bedram793I wouldn't make such assumptions unless its specifically stated in the notes that it'll work... You might try going to programs and features and see if you can uninstall sp2.
Wait a minute, by upgrade does it mean no fresh install? So even if I have service pack 2, I can just install the iso file or whatever? bedram793Upgrade means installing it over an existing Vista installation, or you can boot the dvd and do a clean install.
I want to try it, I just have a question, can I use it if I still have XP? Or do I need Vista to try Windows 7?remmbermytitansYou don't need any os to try it.
Are you guys installing this windows 7 over top of your current OS as an upgrade? No way in hell would I try that unless you have a separate testing system to try it out on. I bet this new release is far from stable. Good luck in being the local testing guinea pig.Tyson8earzzLuckily i have an old system to test it on :D
